Chapter 5: painful Burdens

Lucius had entered the meeting room quietly, he stood behind his seat as everyone gazed up at him...

"Lucius..." his boss called calmly.

"yes?..." he stares blank faced gripping the back of his chair.

"you're late... are you alright?.." his boss replied with concern.

Lucius stays quiet and briefly looks around the room, "yes Sir..." he replied shortly after, and swiftly sat down.

meanwhile, I myself.. was struggling to keep a secret..

Snape was still suspicious of me, but calmly made his way back up to his desk.. to grade a few papers before starting a lesson..

I bent down to put the lightly brown pot back in the wagon, then silently with an odd expression pulled it to the front of the class and placed it near the front row..

some of the students stared up at me, looking at me oddly.. while the rest paid no mind..

my fingers were locked together near my chest, I stared out over the students nervously..

a few seconds later..

suddenly. Snape puts his hand on my shoulder..

"are you ready to start?..." he whispers sincerely.

I was a bit startled and quickly look over, I exhale softly..

"yes.." I smile slightly, but.. was still very troubled.

i felt myself deteriorating... i'm just hoping i can stay strong and survive long enough to find out what's happening to this place... and my loved ones..

i don't feel myself much anymore... i feel sad. and weak.. i'm not the only one who is afraid of what's happened.. the staff, i can see are fearful as well..

Snape seems more concerned about me.. than the school...

i would expect that much... because he's always worried about me..

and i him..

Snapes very good at figuring things out... so i'm scared that he'll find out what i've been hiding from everyone..

i don't wish to ask anyone for help.. or put their lives in danger because of me..

this is something i have to deal with on my own...

and as i stood in front of this class... i promised myself... that i would do just that.. and let it remain a secret.. no matter what.

Snape and i started to teach... it turned out to be a peaceful lesson.. unlike before when i felt stressed..

as i was assisting Severus.. i remembered someone..

Draco..

i don't know where he is... or if he's alright..

he just stormed off.. and i haven't seen him since..

that little bit of peace quickly left me.. after i started worrying about him..

i was stuck in the position of holding up a pot and staring at the floor... as Snape lectured the class on what the plant was and what it does..

Mrs. Cho, the Ravenclaw student from earlier.. she knew something was wrong with me.. and peered at me for several minutes.. continuously..

another class gone... and another lesson finished..

i was still in the classroom with Snape, it was very empty and quiet..
