Chapter 8: my worst fear

i slowly flipped through.. however, still finding nothing but creature lore..

POV CHANGE> (Snape)

he seemed troubled and frightened.. and scurried around looking for me..

he swiftly walked down the pathway beside the courtyard..

he appeared after walking passed a hedge row, that shielded him from sight.

he stared at the cobblestone, then felt a presence nearby, causing him to look up and out into the grass.

his heart dropped and he inhaled..

he found me...

he had terrible news, and he was almost to afraid to tell me.

it was all that was on his mind...

"Lilian is ill, and has fallen into a coma."

he stared at me in the distance awhile before gathering up the strength to come over..

seconds turned into minutes, but he still hadn't moved.

until now.. 

he exhaled and clenched his fists tight then stepped forward.

My POV>

as far as i knew, i was completely alone.

but then, someone approached me.

i was so caught up in what i was doing that my eyes wandered up and down..

but then my stare fixated on the person..

"Snape? what are you doing here?" i ask in confusion, and stare up at him.

he swallowed and was choked up..

"what's wrong?." i became concerned.

"Lilian is ill and she's in a coma." he muttered slightly as his eyes watered and turned red.

"what." i whisper, jump up and stand closely in front of him.

"she's in the hospital wing it happened so fast."

"she was in Flitwick's class learning a new charm when she collapsed and fell, no one could get her to wake up, not even me or her sister." he cried lightly.

i silently gazed around as my breath intensified, my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my throat.

"come on." i grab his hand and run to the hospital wing.

(in my panic for Lilian's health, i forgot about the book and it laid on the ground where i sat..)

we ran into the hospital wing and saw the nurse and Stephanie at her bedside..

I stare down on her..

Her skin was pale, her hands were cold it seemed like there was no life in her.

"why couldn't it have been me." Stephanie cried.

I look up at her sorrowfully..

Then slowly walk around the bed..

I squat to her level, and grab her shoulders.

"we're going to make Lillian better Okay?" I say sweetly and sincerely.

Snape stares sadly..

Stephanie nods lightly, I nod back and hug her tightly.

the three of us spent almost an hour, just sitting by her bedside.

Draco is already ill, it just crushes me that another one of my children has fallen near death.

I fear that I won't have enough time to save everyone..

after the long an unexpected heartbreak, my dearest Severus and I took a walk just outside.

His fingers we're locked over his abdomen, neither of us said a word.

"I promise you, I'll find a way to end this." I mutter sincerely.

He was silent a moment..

"I know you will.." He replies, but seemed to be deeply thinking.

He still didn't understand why I keep refusing help to solve this mystery..

I softly gaze upon him..

he must be so heartbroken about Lillian, I can't not think that this is all my fault.

I touch his forearm and grip it as we come to a stop..

He slowly looks at my hand and peers up into my eyes..

we boldly stare at each other, then quickly embrace like we haven't seen each other in years.

He quietly weeps into my left shoulder..

I gently slide my hand across his back to comfort him..

we stayed like that for so long and grieved, and lost track of time.

we break apart and remain silent, I peek at the cobblestone then inhale suddenly.

"Snape the book!" I exclaimed.

"Book?" he repeated in confusion.

"It's a very long story, Dumbledore suggested something to help me discover the problem we're facing in Hogwarts."

"He allowed me to go into the library's restricted section to find a mysterious book on forbidden magic and dangerous creatures, I've been reading it for hours but haven't found anything similar to our experiences." I explained.

Then I remembered..

I must have forgotten amongst the bad news, while we were morning.

"I have to go, give Lillian my love." I say to him passionately.

He was perplexed..

I scurry away as he watched..

"The book, I left it in the courtyard after Snape came to tell me about Lillian."

"I have to find it before something happens.." I think to myself.

My coat swayed in the breeze as I ran..

I slowed down as I came to the location, I scan the area visually in the places I could see the best at the moment.

I didn't want to become panicked so quickly but, I felt my beating heart and the adrenaline in my veins.

I walk further..

nothing..

then I approached the spot I was sitting in..

I for sure became panicked now..

It was gone..

I prayed a student didn't come across it and take it..

What have I done, I should have been more responsible.

"No Stop blaming yourself, it was a mistake." my voice echoed in my head.

I sat on my knees and gaze into the distance torn apart by everything..

The afternoon sun kissed my skin but my beauty and kindness was to tainted and distraught to show..

I feel like I'm losing the grasp of everything I love..

but to what! what is this veil hanging over my head!

I refuse to let it win..

No one harms my girls, my son, my Severus, and my dearest Lucius My love.

I growl..

This shadow will die whoever you are you have officially deemed yourself worthy of death.
