Brook’s POV:
Sometimes I do question what I could have possibly done wrong in life for it to enjoy biting me in the ass. I think it all started when my naïve six year old self decided to be captivated by a certain boy with green eyes. Stupid Flynn. I wear a scowl on my face as I drag a reluctant Shane to the office before we leave school. I’ve got to get this idiot a proper locker and books.
“No, I don’t want to go in there,” Shane hugs a nearby pillar when the office doors come into view.
“Look at yourself, Shane you need help. The pole is not your friend,” I think Shane seriously needs an intervention. He needs to stop believing he can do something strange for the change.
“Okay, I’ll go in with you,” his blue eyes look at the office with certain disdain before I fling open the glass door and drag him in with me.
I sigh in relief as moments later we’re pilling books into Shane’s new locker, I take out the ones he’ll need today and he reluctantly carries them outside with him. Flynn’s already in the parking lot, leaning on my car, when we walk out into the sunny day.
“Shane get in the car, goodbye Flynn,” I motion for Shane to get in the passenger’s side while desperately trying to get away from Flynn. I think he has trouble understanding that his presence has become a nuisance.
Has it really? That annoying snarky voice in my head questions.
“Come on Brookie, don’t be like that. You have to take me to Ryan’s house so that I can get my bike back, please,” he pleads as I pray that a flying bird poops on his perfect hair.
“Go die,” I mutter before climbing into my car. Now, you may think I’m being a little harsh but this idiot has been annoying me too much. He snuck into my room yesterday claiming that the dark was scaring him, he ignored me when I told him to go home. His obnoxious singing while he was trying to fall asleep on the floor was not appreciated. That’s how I know he was deliberately trying to bother me because I know that he actually has, and it pains me to say it, a beautiful voice.
“Get out of the way,” I scream from inside as he blocks me while I try to pull out. It’s actually comical how Shane gives me a look of horror as I try to trample over one of his friends. Yeah buddy, fear me. I continue to try to get around Flynn, but he is one persistent bastard. I flip him off in defeat as I unlock the back door for him to get his sorry ass inside the car.
“Thanks for the ride, bestie,” Flynn chirps cheerily as he buckles his belt. I scowl at him from the rear view mirror before peeling out of the parking lot and heading in the direction of Ryan’s home. It doesn’t help my anger when Shane turns on the radio and their jam comes on. They open the windows, blast the volume and let their bodies hang half way out of the car as they both sing Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream, yep, you read right.
“Here we are,” I announce as we pull up into Ryan’s drive way.
“Aren’t you going to come with me?” Flynn gives me his well-rehearsed puppy look.
“Nope,” I wave him off with a smirk.
“But, he’ll go easier on me if you’re there,” he remarks.
