Misfoot and Confession

You didn't attend your class after lunch break because you didn't want to see Yuuma as he had the same classes as you for today. You thought of just going home and maybe skip school tomorrow, too.

You wiped your damp cheeks with your sleeve before unlocking the door slightly and was relieved to see no one was there.

You stared at your hideous reflection in the mirror and said, "It's natural for Yuuma to ignore me. He must have felt so ashamed whenever I'm beside him.. Someone like me.." you forced a chuckle to even think of anything else why he neglected you. 

You walked back to your empty class to gather your things before headed back home. It was still bright so the route was not really scary compared to at dusk. Although it looked rather deserted. No one was around, no cars, no sound at all. It was eerie and you heard a soft shuffling noise behind you. You gulped but didn't dare to turn around. Your heartbeat increased and without thinking much, you ran as fast as you could only to have a strong grip on your wrists and a pointed knife to your throat.

"Scream and you'll die," the robber threatened.

'Die?' you thought and your struggles reduced to zero.

The man smirked. "Good girl. Now if you give me all your valuables, you'll get out just fine, understand?"

You didn't answer but just stared at the knife with such great desire. "Can you just kill me... I don't want to go on anymore.. I shouldn't have been born at all.. I shouldn't have had my hopes up if I knew everyone would just treat me the same way.. I should have known that Yuuma is just the same as everybody else.. I'm such a loser.. I'm such a shame.. I'm such a..." your tears began to stream down your cheeks again.

The man was perplexed for a moment but he  just grabbed your bag and dropped everything down to the ground. He saw your wallet and took out all the money and valuable cards before fleeing immediately and disappeared within sight.

You, on the other hand felt so lifeless and started to gather your things slowly just when you heard a voice screaming your out name behind you. You turned to look and your eyes widened and tears flowed more down your cheeks.

It was Yuuma and Len.

They began to run towards you and you panicked, seeing them closing in the distance to you. Abandoning your things, you just ran away as fast as your legs could carry you. You didn't want to see them. You never wanted to see them again, especially Yuuma. He'd hurt your feelings.

'W-what are you doing now?! Just leave me alone! You hate me, so just hate me! Just leave me to myself!!' you screamed inside you severely wounded heart.

Suddenly, you misfoot and fell down to the sloping road, spraining both your ankles. You yelled out loudly along with your hurtful sobs when you fell and you knew that they had caught up with you. You bent your head as you cried silently to yourself, didn't make any efforts in getting up because it was useless. 'I must look like an idiot right now, so pitiful.'

"Y-y/n.." you heard Yuuma spoke your name and it flicked on your angry, betrayal switch.

"LEAVE ME ALONE! I DON'T NEED YOU ANYMORE!!" you shouted angrily. Your voice was thick with hurt.

"Y/n...I-I'm sorry," he apologized.

"I don't need your pity. In fact, I don't need friends after all! I don't need anything  anymore!" you yelled. "You must be so happy now that I said that. Just go away, okay? P-please..j-just leave me alone.." you voice croaked as you controlled your tears.

Instead of going away, Yuuma knelt down and hugged you from behind. You tensed up and cried harder as you tried to release yourself from his warm embrace.

"Y/n, I'm really sorry... I-I didn't mean to do that to you.." he whispered. "I never mean to hurt you, y/n... I-I just wanted..y-your attention.."

"W-what are you talking-"

"I'm serious y/n.." he cut your words. "I-I'm jealous t-that you're with that Ted instead of me.."

"Like I said, what are you trying to say?!" you screamed, wiping your river-flowing like tears off your face.

"I LOVE YOU, Y/N!" he screamed back. The unexpected answer made you stiff. "I really love you...and it hurts so much when I saw you and Ted kissed.. I wished for it to be me instead.."

Len who had gathered your things went to lean against the wall while watching both of you from afar. He hoped that you would forgive him for his insensitivity.

"Y-you're lying," you said. "No one would ever loved me.. I know that because I'm just a mistake after all.. I know you just intend to hurt me again..and again..and again.."

His arms tightened around your body and you could feel the pounding of his heart on your back.

"I will never do that, y/n! It pains me when I see you like this.."

"You say that but then you just go and hurt me again.."

"Y/n-"

"Just...leave me alone.. I don't need your sympathy, Yuuma. I shouldn't have opened my heart to you before.. It was my mistake. I always did the same mistake over and over again. I never learn," your throat began to hurt from all the screaming. "I'm sorry, Yuuma..for bringing you into my life. You shouldn't have witness this at all. I broke the promise but I'm glad that you don't have to stuck with someone like me ever again! Isn't that great, Yuuma?" you smiled as you get away from his arms.

He looked at you and knew how much he'd hurt you if you had started to act like that. You were creating a thick wall around your heart so that no one could break in and get to you again. "I'm sure you must have felt so ashamed whenever I'm with you, so light up now! After this, I wouldn't be beside you anymore. It would just be Len and other girls, perhaps your girlfriend?"

You stood, forgotten completely about your twisted ankles and cried out at the sudden pain striking you.

Everything went black in an instant.
