Jinxxed (Black Veil Brides)

Chapter Four

A/N: Thanks to everyone who's reading and commeting on this, I appreciate it so much! Things start to pick up here, and there's a truckload of drama coming up in the next few chapters, which I hope you'll all enjoy. Read, little cabages, read and enjoy :3

"Do you know each other?" Jake asks curiously. 

"Oh yes," Steven smiles nastily. "We know each other very well,"

"He's my step dad," I murmur.

"Why weren't you at home, Katherine?" Steven asks me softly. I try to back away from him. I notice Andy looking concerned and I briefly wonder if he'll do anything about Steven. Call security and get him arrested, hopefully.

"I was at the concert," I reply smoothly, masking my terror.

"Well it's time to go home," Steven's eyes flash dangerously. "Come on,"

He grabs my wrist and I twist my head around and wave casually to the Black Veil Brides. Andy's frowning at Steven and so is Jinxx. CC's passed out on the floor and Ashley's waving at me. Jake isn't doing anything, just looking at me blankly.

"Bye!" I grin, hoping they don't notice the scared tone of my voice.

"Tweet me if you need anything!" Andy calls just before Steven pulls me out of the tent.

Luke hastily runs after us, looking terrified.

"Dad, I'm so-"

"Shut up, boy," Steven growls. "We'll deal with this when we get home,"

There's a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach, like I've been on a roller coaster and I think I'm actually going to be sick.

"You shouldn't've stopped me from going to the concert," I say in a small voice. "This is what happens,"

"Don't you dare talk to me," Steven growls. "I can't even look at you right now. I feel sick just by knowing you exist,"

"Dad, it was my fault. None of this was Kath's-"

"And I can't even believe you're my son," Steven says dangerously. "You're not my son. I'm ashamed by even thinking you lived under my roof,"

"Lived?" Luke echoes, looking white as a sheet.

"Oh yes," Steven says nastily. "When we get in, both of you are packing your bags and getting the hell out of my house,"

"It's Mum's house!" I suddenly feel a wave of anger. "You came to live with us,"

Steven doesn't say anything and keeps on driving. "It's not your mum's house anymore,"

"What?" I ask.

"Your mum's in hospital," Steven replies coldly. "And I doubt we'll be seeing her again,"

There's another horrible feeling in my stomach and I even let a tear slip down my cheek, which I instantly wipe away. I don't want Steven to see I'm crying. When we do get home, eventually, Steven grabs the two of us and flings us inside.

"It's your fault she's in hospital!" Steven roars at me. "She was out for hours, bless her, looking for you! She didn't come back for hours, right, and the next thing I know, the hospital's rung me up and telling me some drunk idiot's run her over. So I went to the hospital, didn't I? I finally track her down and there are a loads of panicking doctors because they were loosing a heartbeat and she was covered in blood. That's the last I saw of her. IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" he screams the last sentence.

He undoes his belt and then he raises it. The next thing I know, he's whacked me with his belt and there's a blinding pain and I can't breathe for a few second. Then I feel the blood tricking from where he hit me with his belt and Luke's launched himself at Steven.

"Luke, no!" I yell weakly.

Luke stops himself and then looks Steven up and down. "It's just as well you don't consider me your son anymore," he says "I don't consider you my father,"

"Get out of my house," Steven grabs him by the shoulders. "You've got half an hour to get what you need, both of you. I don't care where the hell you go, just get out of here!"

I run upstairs, joined by Luke, and I grab my suitcase out of the cupboard. I throw in my laptop, a bunch of jeans, a bunch of t-shirts, my Converse and I out in my Black Veil Brides wrist band. I put in a few books and all of my make-up. Luke's gotten himself ready. As we've got ten minutes left, I get out my phone and I've got a private message of Andy on Twitter:

You okay? Your step-dad looked pretty pissed. Call if you need anything x.

And there's even his number in the message.

"Luke," I call out. "Luke, I think I've got us a place to stay,"

"What?" Luke appears in my room. "Where?"

I show him the message. "No," Luke shakes his head. "No, we can't go and stay with Black Veil Brides,"

"Well where else are we going to go?" I snap. "Where else have we got to stay? I don't have any friends to stay with,"

"And mine won't take us in," Luke sighs. "Okay, fine, call him,"

There's heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. "Get out of my house!" Steven roars. I grab hold of my suitcase and shove my phone in my pocket. At the last minute, I grab my iPod off my shelf and Luke and I go down the stairs and Steven slams the front door and we hear it getting locked. For the first time in a long while, I'm actually scared.

"Come on," Luke takes my hand. "We'll find a midnight café and get a coffee or something. You can call Andy from there,"

We start walking and we don't find anywhere to stay. After a few hours, I'm exhausted and tripping over my own feet and Luke's looking washed out. We sit down on a bench and I type in Andy's phone number and wait.

"Hello?" I hear his deep voice. "Who's this?"

"It's me, Katherine," I say nervously.

"Kath! Jesus, girl, are you okay? Why're you calling me at four in the morning?"

"My step-dad k-kicked us out of the house," I whisper.

"Where are you?" Andy asks.

"I-I don't know," I think I'm about to start crying. "Luke and I just started walking and I have no idea where I am and-"

"Sh, it's okay. Take a deep breath. Can you pass me over to your brother?"

I hand Luke the phone and they start talking. I'm too tired to pay attention to their conversation and I curl up on the bench and close my eyes.

"Kath..." I hear a deep voice say and someone's gently shaking my shoulder. "Come on, girl, wake up,"

I open my eyes and I'm looking up at Andy. "What-?" I'm too confused and tired to speak.

"You're staying with us until your brother can find a place for you to stay," Andy explains. "It's just as well we've finished tour,"

"What?" I sit up, a little more alert. Andy grins and then CC bounds into view.

"Hello, little Kath," he grins and then he picks up my suitcase. "Get out of the cold. Luke's just gotten on the tour bus and I reckon you should get on there as well,"

Andy helps me on to the bus, as I'm still totally out of it. I make out Ashley and Jinxx sipping on cans of beer and Jake is standing by the mini-bar, looking unamused.

"Get yourself into a bunk and we'll talk about this in the morning," Luke whispers to me.

I go into the back where the bunks are and I fling myself into the closest one and fall straight asleep...
