" 'Cause you're a good girl and you know it.
You act so different around me.
'Cause you're a good girl and you know it.
I know exactly who you could be. "

Kennedy...

On a warm day, around 2:30pm to be exact, I woke up to the sweet smell of dewy leaves and grass. Squawking birds flew rapidly in circles above my house. My nap was lovely, just what I needed to get rid of a headache. While having a gigantic stretch and yawn, my wrists twirled and popped . I scooted to the edge of the California Kingsized bed. My clothes from early in the day were still on me, a bit wrinkled, but not noticeable. I slipped off the bed and tiptoed to my vanity. When there I combed my bangs down and headed down the darkened foyer to the front steps that led to the living room where I heard hushed laughs and a loud whistle going off. I tiptoed into the living room doorway and there sat three familiar faces: Tony, Davon's cousin. Tonay, Davon's niece, and Davon himself.

"Eh-hem." I scoffed out while leaned against the wall.

"Hey baby." Davon said while standing up to peck my left cheek. I nodded him off and turned my attention to our company.

"Hello Tony. Hi Tonay." I greeted with cheerfulness in my voice.

"Hi Aunt Kennedy." Tonay sang. Her chubby cheeks revealed deep dimples. Her yellow skin glistened in the light and showed off her hazel eyes. I swear she had to be the cutest seven year old I've ever seen. She was mixed with Dominican and Brazilian, she had soft curls and big eyes. Her voice was so squeaky and quiet; it matched perfectly with her personality. She wasn't rowdy and didn't misbehave like a lot of children her age. Tonay liked to stay put, stay quiet, and stay out of trouble. While most of the times we visited she was in her room playing dolls, when she came to visit me I always planned for us to have an outstanding girls day, since her mother had left Tony to take care of Tonay himself.

"Aunt Kenn, are we going to get our nails done? You promised!" Tonay whined while hugging my leg.

"T. settle down." Tony ordered in his deep voice.

"She's fine." I said to Tony, "Here. How about we go get our nails done, then we go to Build-a-Bear Workshop in the mall? I always wanted one of my own." While I spoke, her tiny circular face grew into a gigantic toothy smile.

"Oh please yes!" She shouted while jumping.

"Okay, just let me grab my purse." I spoke while turning to face Davon. He held up his hand revealing my beige purse.

"Thank you." I peeped. He replied with a silent 'Mmhm.' and turned his attention to the game.

"Comon' Kobe knows he sucks." He shouted to the television.

I helped Tonay slide on her tiny, red Vans®. She held on to my dress while I walked her to the door. We waved and said our good byes to the boys, then headed out for our Girls Spa Day.

"Build-a-Bear!" She screeched, "I don't want to get my nails messed up, let's go to Build-a-Bear!"

"Yes ma'am." I said while she dragged me by my arm.

Within three minutes we had approached the store. I led her to the buckets of unstuffed, lifeless animal furs. Tonay ran to each one and examined the display dolls until she found a cute chocolate bunny rabbit.

"This one?" She questioned me.

"It's adorable!" I sang, "Is that the doll you want?"

"Yes!" She shouted while a cheek full of dimples.
