Daniel

Eighteen..........

"So Elijah, where did you grow up?" Melanie asked as we sat down in the canteen and Elijah looked up from his food.

"In Manchester, I grew up there and my parents wanted a change for my sister and I, so we moved down here. My parents still have a house up in Manchester and they go up there sometimes, so it's just me and my younger sister, Lauren in the house sometimes and our nan." He smiled and Melanie took a bite from her sandwich and titled her head in confusion.

"You're nan?" She asked and Elijah nodded.

"Yeah, she moved in with us when I was four when my grandad died. She's really sweet and helps out around the house and we all love her and we call her grams. But she's just bossy sometimes." Elijah said and Melanie giggled but nodded in agreement.

She seemed intrigued and interested towards what Elijah was saying, but I just kind of dazed off. Hoping that Sawyer and the other little shits don't spot me.

"What about you Daniel?" Elijah asked and I was pulled out of my thoughts while Melanie stared at me.

"Sorry, what?" I asked and Melanie groaned quietly while rolling her eyes as I kicked her leg and she shot me an angry look.

"Where did you grow up?" Elijah asked biting into an apple.

"Here, I've always lived around here with Mel. We don't really need move anywhere else." I admitted and Melanie smiled over at Elijah who nodded.

"Yeah, I guess so." Elijah agreed and Melanie sighed standing up and brushing off the crumbs from her sandwich, and beamed.

"Well, excuse me you two but I have a psychology paper due in next week and I need to finish it. Will you two be alright?" She smiled and I shot her an icy look.

I knew exactly what she was doing! She finished her paper last week because I helped her!

"Sure, Daniel still has to show me around the performing arts centre and the language department." Elijah smiled and Melanie nodded and I squinted at her evilly but she giggled and winked.

"Well, I gotta get going. Bye guys, Elijah it was nice meeting you again." Melanie said waving to Elijah as she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder and darted off before we said anything.

Elijah smiled over at me, I awkwardly smiled back while twiddling my thumbs nervously.

"We should get going, lunch will be over in in about half an hour." I mumbled and Elijah nodded throwing his rubbish into the bin and grabbed his bag as I hurried out of the canteen, worrying that Sawyer or any of the guys spotted me and Elijah followed behind me.

"So, if you don't mind me asking about the question I asked you earlier....." Elijah started, looking down at the floor as we walked through the empty halls.

"Which was?" I asked, knowing what he was going on about but wasn't in the mood to answer the question.

"About you not having your first kiss." He smiled and I grumbled, rolling my eyes to the ceiling.

"Would you drop it?" I said In frustration and Elijah giggled.

"Why? I think it's adorable that you're a kiss virgin!" Elijah stated and I growled as he ruffled my hair and I slapped his hand away, but he continued to giggle as his tongue stuck out of his mouth (I would be lying if I by saying that it  wasn't cute when he did that.)
