Chapter 1: First Day Back
Monday
I woke up in the morning at 7:30…early I know.
I woke up to my mom yelling “Faithers!!! Wake up!!! Don’t wanna be late for the 1st day of 7th grade.”
Yeah I can't wake up on my own that early so my mom wakes me up, I mean I am still young. Well enough thinking I should get up since I’m always late. I take my head out from under the blanket to see my bedroom door wide open and all the lights on in my room. I don’t really like bright lights when I just wake up so it looks like I’m gonna have to go turn them off. I grab the blanket and wrap it around myself. I crawl out of bed and onto the floor. I crawl like a little baby until I reach my door. I grab it and shut very quickly and lock it.
"Yay! Privacy! Ok now down to business." I think as I stand up.
I turn to my dresser and quickly picked out some jeans and a long sleeve, blue t-shirt. I got dressed, brushed my hair, brushed my teeth, got my book bag on and ran down the stairs.
“Bye mom I’m leaving!” I yelled as I ran to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water.
“Bye baby!” She yelled before I closed the front door behind me.
I walked down the street until I saw Jake. Jake is a good friend of mine, he’s kind of like a brother to me. I’m very lucky that he lives five houses down.
“Hey Fair! How’s your morning so far?” He said as he ran towards me.
“Ehhhh am I the only one who hates mondays?” I said as I threw my head back.
“Haha I don’t know.” He said as he shrugged his shoulders.
“Watcha got there?” I asked as I nodded towards his hands.
“Oh just an apple my mom always wants me to eat something before I leave to school.”
“You gonna eat it?”
“No, here” He said as he handed me the apple.
“Thanks I didn’t eat this morning.” I don't ever eat in the morning. I'm too fat.
“No problem sis.” He said as he wraped his arm around my shoulder.
“Cool bro. So wanna hang out at the beach later? We could go swimming.” I said while smiling. I loved to go swimming. I always felt like me and the water have a connection. I'm not sure why though. I love the ocean and I honestly wish I was a mermaid.
“Sure, after school we can get our swimsuits and then head that way.”
“Should I ask my mom to drop us off or should we walk?”
“Um I don’t care.” He said while shrugging. He always gives me the same answer. Deep down I know he likes to walk. And so do I. When I walk it gives me lots of time to think. Plus it's good exercise.
“Lets walk…I have a feeling that the 1st day of school is gonna be filled with a lot of bullshit.”
“True…I wonder if we’ll have any classes together besides homeroom…”
“God I hope we do.” I said as we reached the school building.
We walked through the doors and up the stairs and entered our class.
