Artificial Passion

I slammed my door shut, panting. I had just ran to my room from the hall, getting confused looks by Valentine.

Stephanie, well. She was one unique girl. Stephanie obviously thought that I had feelings for Luke.

Well, I guess I did. Know what it is? Hatrid. Pure, strong hatrid.

I suddenly remembered I was to marry Luke, the next day. It was all too fast. I hated it. I hated him.

I slid to the floor, my back pressed against the door and drew my knees up to my chest.

I let out a sharp breath, my face contorted in pain. I could feel the sting of my tears, the salt on my lips.

I could taste white-hot fury burning inside me, also a sharp pain.

I was being forced into an unwanted situation. I was being forced to confess artificial passion to a man who abused a women just because.

Pain, pain, pain, anger, pain, anger, anger, pain. More anger.

I weeped, sobbed. Letting out a blood curdling cry of pain as I could feel my freedom wither away inside me.

I slunk down further into the ground. After we're married, he'll most likely slap me just like he slapped Valentine.

Worse, he'd kiss me.

Another cry that could have made Hitler cringe. I was mentally burning, being teared apart.

I knock and a quivering,attractive, deep voice said "M-m-miss M-Macy? C-Can I-I-I co-come i-in?"

Valentine.

I called yes between sobs and crawled aside so I wouldn't get hit by the door. My knees were brought up to my chest and I was rocking back and forth, eyebrows drawn together.

The door creaked open and I could see Valentine glance at me.

"Princess, I heard what you said to Luke. You were very brave. I do not know why destiny has organised this wedding, but it must be for a reason. Everyone deserves a happy ending. Everyone."

I nodded and gasped, "What if, though? What if I'm some exception. What if no one gets happy endings, and everyone just swims in a pool of misery and anguish. What if? What if. What if?! WHAT IF!'

Valentine jumped and her eyes went wide.

I rubbed my arm naturally and murmured, "Sorry."

"It's fine. But seriously. Destiny, well. Destiny has something perfect planned out for you. I know you, Macy. I know you very well. You may not think it, but I do. Destiny would not ever, ever, curse you with that pig. Luke, he'll be left in pain, I can feel it. I can feel destiny, it's a gift I was born with. Destiny will curse Luke, for all eternity. And remember Macy, you will meet the love of your life in a horrible time of despair and sorrow. When you feel the most helpless, he'll be there. And he will help you escape the filthy grasp of Luke. Mark my words." She said calmly, slithering away into darkness, from my room.

My sharp, rattling breath rung in my ears.

'You will meet the love of your life in a horrible time of despair and sorrow. He will be there. He will help you escape the filthy grasp of Luke.'

Well, at least I would meet my knight in shining armour.

Another blood curdling cry of despair. I then drifted off to sleep, crying and twitching on the floor of my room.
