ON THE WAY

Even though this letter was written in the past, it felt like it had been writen to us now. We looked at each other for only a moment before telepathically communicating that we were going to follow these instructions, another power that we were unaware of having. We put everything back in the box and we're about to head out the door forgetting that it was now midnight and completely dark oustide. I reached for the light switch but immediately after they flicked on, the light bulbs exploded one by one.

"Go to the kitchen and look for a flash light, Ill look in the computer room." Breanne stated with fear shaking her voice.

"I think it might be better to stick together. At this point we can't be sure of what's around every corner, and to be honest with you, I'm really terrified." Fear shaking my voice the same as hers.

We grasped each others hands, in her other hand the box, and in mine the flash light on my phone.

We walked quickly out the door locking it behind us and down the front steps to the hard cement that paved the way to the dirt drive way. We stumbled down the rocky farm road on our way to Rowe's home, hoping that we would not have to encounter the things we were warned of in the letter, but of course with the amount of luck we've had today a little old lady was walking toward us from the end of the street where we were going. I pulled Breanne with me to the other side of the road, hoping to avoid the women. She stayed on the other side but I could see her glowing yellow eyes follow us as we approached the point where she had stopped only the road between us now. I wished that she would keep walking, as she had stopped right in front of the road we were to turn onto in order to get to Rowe's home, but she didn't, she stayed in the same spot staring at us with her eyes that seemed to be burning a whole in my chest. We didn't know what to do, she was in our way, and if we ran, we would run right into her. Behind me was the potato field, and going in there wouldn't help us at all, the only thing we could do was stand there. The old lady made her way swiftly across the road her hands in a position that resembled the choke hold Darth Vader used in Star Wars, and it seemed to have the same effect as Breanne and I tried desperately to breathe, but neither us succeeding  or at least not enough, obvious by the sound made from our throats. Like our gasping for breath was a wistle, Rowe's dogs, that had scared me all my life attacked the women allowing us to catch our breaths.
"Run girls!!!!!!" Rowe yelled at us from the her house down the road.

We did as she said, and as her words spurred us into action, and as I started to picture Rowe's house we landed right in front of her house, as if we had teleported, in fact we did. When I stood up to brush the dirt off of me after the landing, I looked at the woman who was melting into a pile of dust on the ground. Suddenly I was pulled from behind and let out a loud scream, before the hand went over my mouth and I realized it was Rowe.
