Narrator POV

a month had passed since the last meeting of Atticus, Kenzie and Deanna to discuss the plan of attack on the order of the snake. at this time, the Hufflepuff and Slytherin sixth years both had Astronomy. Kenzie was sitting at the back of the class, sitting with Odette, and Deanna just ahead with Hawke. Thinking quick while the professors back was turned, scribbled a note reading, "We need to have a meeting today during potions class, same tower, i'll bring Atticus." folded it in to a paper airplane, whispered a charm and sent it on its way. The airplane glided gracefully through the air, until it hit Deanna's long, sleek ponytail, and landed with a crumpled nose on her desk. Deanna looked around for what had poked her in the head, when her eyes landed on Hawke. "Was it you?" she quietly asked, wearing a sneer. Hawke had his chin rested in his hand looking at Deanna. "No, but you do have mail." he said, pointing a slender finger at the folded parchment on her desk. she hastily snatched up the airplane and unfolded it. when she read, a tiny smile crept across her face. they hadn't had a meeting for so long, and she was looking forward to the pumpkin pasties Kenzie would smuggle from the kitchen.

After Astronomy, the school had lunch period. as soon as the sixth years got out of class, Deanna, Kenzie, Atticus and Odette all huddled in a group talking about the upcoming meeting. little did they know of the looming, eavesdropping figure behind them. The group dispersed. Deanna rushing along alone to the tower, Kenzie in the direction of the kitchen, to swipe lunches for everyone, and Atticus swept away on the arm of Odette, to the library. the pair of hufflepuffs made their way to the library. Hawke, who was eavesdropping the whole time, decided to slowly follow Deanna.

In the tower, Deanna stood watch as Odette and Atticus hurried in with piled of books levitating beside them. a few moments later, Kenzie arrived with the lunches in her messenger bag. She got in the tower, Deanna following her, and placed a protection charm on the entry. the charm caused it to look as if no one was in there, and masked their voices. Kenzie sat down on the cold, stone floor beside Odette and Atticus, with Deanna straight across from her. "alright." she said with a sigh. opening the messanger bag, she pulled out a tray of pumpkin pasties, multiple sandwiches, and a closed pitcher of iced pumpkin juice. "undetectable extension charm?" Odette asked. Kenzie nodded. "brilliant!" the blond replied.

Unbeknownst to the young witches and wizards, they had been accompanied by a hawk sitting on the window sill of the tower. growing tired of waiting to be recognized, the hawk screeched. Odette was so startled, the pumpkin pastie she was eating jolted out of her hand, and stuck the ceiling a bit before landing on Atticus's head with a thwap. curious, Deanna crawled over to the window sill from her sitting position on the floor, and eyed the hawk with her eyes in a squint.  she has seen this hawk before but she cant quite but her finger on it... maybe he was in the Slytherin common room once? that has to be it. after a long moment of Deanna's awkward hawk stare, he flew off, leaving a small brown feather on the window.
