chapter 6, Avery Grace and the Common room

Narrator POV 

Deanna, Atticus and Kenzie have started a new day at Hogwarts. after the incident at the house they stayed at the orphanage for the night. finally free of forsythias wrath, the trio was definitely glad to be home. after a hearty breakfast in the main hall of eggs, bacon and iced pumpkin juice, the three said their goodbyes and parted ways into houses. Deanna regretfully turns with hands in her robes and somberly wonders off the Slytherin common room. Kenzie turned to the tiny white haired fourth year, and with a sigh walked him to the common room. the moment they were about to open the door, a sixth year witch with curly black hair and black eyes that could kill leaped out of the hidden passage way. "Kenzie Rae Griffon!!!"  shouted the small built sixth year. "hullo Avery Grace." said Kenzie calmly. Avery Grace was a pretty girl. she had brown skin as warmly golden as a cup of hot maple tea, and her tight black curls wisped around her face like tiny cascades of black waterfalls. while observing Avery's black as night eyes, Kenzie didn't realize how full of ager they actually were. fuming, Avery said, "We had a Quidditch game last night! and where were you, oh prized chaser of the team? HELPING US LOSE OBVIOUSLY." the pretty Hufflepuff seeker stormed off in a flurry of black curls. looking down at Atticus, Kenzie saw he was staring straight ahead, eyes wide and blushing. "I think I'm in love." Atticus said, looking up to Kenzie. she leaned down to her friend, "don't you think she's a little old for you, short stuff? plus, I got dibs." laughing, they both hopped into the Hufflepuff common room.

in the common room, everyone greeted them with open arms. Atticus was swept away to his dorm by his friends, Ferris Redmond, Edmund Valentine and Seth Cormac. and Kenzie was greeted by her close Hufflepuff friend and fellow chaser, Odette Ivory. she was also a Sixth year, and in nearly all of her classes. she was an unusual beauty. she had honey blonde hair that was wavy and curled up at the edges. her skin staying true to her last name was pure pale ivory, like the moon, with cheeks the color of a rose. and like Kenzie, had two different colored eyes. one green and one blue. Kenzie was always jealous of this, seeming as she had one eye stone grey left as a constant reminder of the night her family passed.  Odette was her closest friend, beside Deanna, and decided it was time to stop hiding things from her. once alone in their dorm, Kenzie told Odette everything that had happened. Ollivanders, the portkey, her childhood, the order, and everything that happened in the beginning. Odette's green eye was tearing up. she let out a sad sob, threw herself at Kenzie and attacked her with a hug. "You are such a brave, glorious girl." Odette said, pulling out of the hug. wiping a tear from Kenzie's eye, Odette said, "I don't know what I would do here in this crazy school if it weren't for your kindness and friendship, accepting me on the first day I arrived. being at Bauxbatons, I had no friends. but here, I have the best of friends. and you, the best and most brave of them all. and now, I want to do all I can to help you with all this madness happening to you and your Slytherin." She crossed her heart and held up a hand in pledge. "I solemnly swear to accompany and assist my Kenzie to hunt down the retched Order Of The Snake, whether it be moral support, or physical combat." grinning ear to ear, Kenzie hugged Odette a second time.
