I think I'm running low on inspiration

She's running long on borrowed time

Liam Payne was ecstatic for his first day at Lakeside High School. So ecstatic that he woke up bright and early this lovely Monday morning, currently buttoning up the button to his plaid shirt that hugged his upper form.

Liam wasn't just excited because it was the first day of another school year as a math teacher but most importantly to distract himself away from his wife, Sophia.

Don't get him wrong, he loves his wife; she's his best friend. However for a few months now they really haven't been communicating. Quick boring chats at the dinner table that is if she can make it since she is a nurse at the small town's hospital.

Constant arguments and lately to him, it seems that she causes these fights so she can leave the house and have an excuse to go to her job. Let's just say she's a major workaholic.

If it was up to Liam she wouldn't work because he was taught his whole life to take care of his family but of course he's a push over and respects a woman's independence.

But no matter what, he'll always hate her job and lets it be known that he despises her line of work.

Everything that Liam can think of at the top of his head on what's wrong with his marriage will be tied to her job. Especially the non attendance in the sex classroom that of course would be the biggest problem.

Which again ties back to her job because she's always tired to do anything! He eyes her sleeping form wrapped up in their covers while running a hand through his bed hair.

"What went wrong with us? We used to be the perfect couple but now?" He thought to himself while watching her body rise and fall with each soft snore that escapes her parted lips.

He switches his attention to the black alarm clock, sitting on the nightstand beside Sophia, that displays 6:28 AM happily in red font.

He glides over to it and quickly turn the alarm off so she wouldn't wake up from the blaring noise and break it again like she did last time. It was their third one this month.

He presses his slightly chapped lips to her frontal lobe to wake her up but she doesn't. In fact she just turns her body away from him and continues to sleep.

"Even unconscious she denies my simple touches," he murmurs to himself and takes a deep breath. No need to get so worked up Liam, your wife just doesn't want you anymore.

He ignores his thoughts and sighs frustratingly because he hates waking her up, she's very cranky. Usually he's a early bird whereas Sophia is just getting into the bed. He'll never understand it.

"Sophia honey? You gotta wake up," he brushes her matted hair from her forehead and her brown eyes flutter open to see her husband's matching ones.

She groans and moves away from him, "Why are you up and dressed?" She murmurs in her sleepy voice which makes Liam gain the urge to roll his eyes.

Of course she'll forget it's his first day though he wishes she didn't. He remembers the good old days when this time of year would come and she'll wake him up telling a bad math pun which would make both of them laugh.
