I took you in, is this the thanks I get

Louis and Avery heads out to the student parking lot with the occasion of her looking over her shoulder for my mother. She sighs in relief when she doesn't find her but in the next few seconds, gets worried again.

"Avie, your Mom's not there," Louis rolls his eyes behind his black framed glasses as he smooths out his skateboard graphic t-shirt. He gets his keys out of the pocket of his navy blue zipped up jacket and swings the key ring around on his index finger.

"I know but I just feel like she's watching my every move," they both stop at their assigned seating of Louis' car as he unlocks it. She waits a few seconds for him to get in and then reach over to unlock the door for her.

"Dude, you seriously need this fixed," she immediately says after she opens the door and gets in as well. He shoves the key in the ignition, watching other students already in their cars, heading out for lunch.

"No," he simply states as he pulls out of the parking space and it's silent until he stops to turn a left so he can pass by the Science building and ninth grade academy and get on the road to his house.

"Don't have the money for it and also the broken tail light is more serious than the door since I could get a ticket for that," she shakes her head at him as he turns a few curves, getting very close to his home.

"Parents home?" He bites his lip to try to think about it. He uses his thumb as a drum to thump against the steering wheel to the beat of a popular song on the radio, she watches him closely for his answer.

"Definetly not my Mom but maybe my Dad?" He turns a right as she nods slowly knowing that they should be okay. At least she hopes so.

She spots his home on the right, she notices a white van by the attic that her, Louis and their friends, over the summer spent most of their time. "I think your Dad's home."

He looks over through her window and nods as he pulls into the driveway. "Must be on his lunch break as well."

"Did you want me to come in or-?" She trails off and he shrugs.
