"But Mom-"
"No buts. You're going for a ride with your brother and that's final!"
"I don't mind riding my bike but I DO NOT want to go with Jack! He'll slow me down," I tried to convince my mother so she would change her mind.
"Are you sure about that Joy?," Jack asked with a VERY fake smile on his VERY annoying face as he entered the kitchen where my mom and I were...negotiating.
"Jack go get your bike out of the garage! Joy, go and change into some appropriate riding gear!, " my mom instructed (more like commanded). I decided to use my secret weapon, puppy dog eyes, on her but it didn't work.
"What are you still standing there for? It's getting late so you guys better hurry if you want to get home in time for dinner."
I gave up and dragged my body to my room. It was an averagely-big room bounded by white walls decorated with girly pictures, stickers and paintings (credit to my mom). Two twin beds with one slightly bigger than the other and a door at the far right side of the room that leads to the bathroom.
The room was messy as I was looking for my phone earlier. I share the room with my little sister, Hazel, hence the two twin beds in the room but she likes my mom's room better so she sleeps there most of the time.
After messing my room some more, I finally found some 'appropriate' riding gear and jogged out of the house to get my bike. Unfortunately, about thirty minutes later, during the awkwardly silent ride, Jack tripped me whilst I was riding(don't ask how or why). So I got to go home with blood all over my hands and legs.
When we got home, my mom saw the blood and wounds and immediately started scolding me whilst she got Band-aids for the wounds.
~*~*~Time Skip To The Next Day~*~*~
Today being Monday means I have to go to prison...I mean school but being the only black (not to mention, fat) person in school didn't exactly make school better.
The moment I walked into my homeroom there was a lot of whispering and murmuring. I wonder why- Oh yeah I had gotten contacts over the weekend to replace the 'grandma' glasses I once wore. I just sat down at my usual seat (in the back of course) and waited for the teacher to come in.
Lunch wasn't any better. As soon as I entered the cafeteria the noise that anyone could here from a mile away magically vanished and was replaced by a deafening silence.
"Damn!" some jock shouted after a while. Then everyone but me laughed at his remark and went back to chatting normally.
By that time I had gone to sit at an abandoned table at the corner of the room. I was daydreaming about my future husband and how perfect he was going to be that I didn't notice that the captain of the football team, Ian Bradley, had come to my table and was staring at me. Well, that was until he said:
"I wish I could kiss you right now."
I did a double take when I heard that.
"Excuse me. I didn't hear you properly. Did you just say you wanted to kiss me?," I asked making sure that I emphasized on kiss.
But instead of answering my question he just smirked and went back to his jock friends.
I think I'm going crazy.
Yes
I, Joy Anderson, am officially crazy.
