1.Books📚
•I wasn't much of a reader when I was younger. I guess you can say I had a love hate relationship with it. From first to third grade we were assigned twenty minutes of reading every night...Half the time I didn't do it. Once we stopped doing the assigned reading near the end of third grade. I actually picked up a book to read for fun. I still have my first chapter book that I read without being told. Magic Elizabeth by Norma Kassirer and that book literally changed my life. After that, you could rarely find me without a book. I soon realized that I could read faster than most people. I can read about ninety-five pages in an hour. I used to go to the library every Saturday and check out seven to ten books. I would have them returned within a week. Unfortunately, now that I'm older I'm unable to spend a lot of time reading. I manage to read at least one book a week, multiple when I'm on Wattpad. Reading opened many doors for me. I've managed to go all over the world and experience different eras. I don't know where I'd be if I hadn't picked up my first book.2.Writing📝
•My love of writing came shortly after I started reading. I remember one day during the summer, I was at home being babysat by my cousin. I exclaimed, 'When I grow up I'm going to be a writer.'
After that, I didn't actually spend much of my free time writing. We did many writing assignments at school. We were given a paper with a picture on it. There was always a beginning of a sentence like, ' Let me tell you about the time I turned into a...'. Something like that. For a while that was the only writing I did. It wasn't until I reached the sixth grade, I was able to complete a story.
My first real story was called Shadow Children. The gist of it was your shadow was actually a child, unborn or who had passed away. I don't remember everything about the story. But the crazy thing is, I think the principal read it because a few months later, there were literally children painted on the walls of the kindergarten classrooms. They weren't colorful or in detail. They were just black shadows. My story may not have been relevant to the art work, but I like to believe it was.3.Family
•My family and I have it's ups and downs. My mom and I don't really see eye to eye. We are total opposites. She's constantly complaining about how messy my room is (I call it my organized chaos). When she wants to talk about something, it's always 'Let's talk about how you never clean up..blah blah blah..yada yada yada.' But in the end I still love her.
I have two brothers, one is way older than me and the other is a few years younger. I get along great with my older brother, I don't really talk/see him much. My younger brother....he's a pain but he has his moments. One minute we could be yelling at eachother the next we're getting along just fine.4.Friends
•It's strange to think I haven't known my friends for very long... But I don't think this is where the story should start.
I made my first best friend the same year most kids do. In kindergarten, my school was a bit different. I went to a small private school. There weren't many students in my class. I was considered a more mature student, so I was allowed to hang out with the older kids. They were mostly girls up to the age of twelve. There was this one girl who was basically bullying me. I remember she once pulled my pants down in the middle of class, just because she wanted to. We played a lot of card games: War, Go Fish, Queen's, etc. She and some of the other girls would help her cheat, just so she could win. I guess I reached a point where I realized if I acted like she did I'd be fine. One day, I saw a girl I didn't know. No one was talking to her because we just didn't know her. So we were all digging in the sand on the playground and just joking around, having fun. Until things took a turn. The older girl decided it would be funny to knock my sand castle down. So I decided to do the same to the new girl. Long story short, we both ended up in tears and because of what I'd done I was sent to spend the rest of the afternoon with the two and three year olds.
But somehow after everyone had apologized, I had managed to make a new best friend. I can't really remember how it happened. But she took a chance on me and from that moment on we were inseparable.
That older girl even stopped messing with me... Yea right.. Now she had two little girls to mess with. But my new friend and I somehow managed to be better opponents.
From that situation I learned that friendship is something that could grow out of anything. I never expected the girl I picked on to ever become my friend. But somehow it happened.
So let's flash forward.
I was a cheerleader my freshman year and I had a good amount of friends. We were all really close to eachother on the team. I also made many friends in my classes. But unfortunately I had to leave.
I moved after my freshman year of high school. I guess you could say I had a really difficult time adjusting. Luckily, I met a great group of people that I'm glad that I'm able to call my friends. You'll probably hear more stories about them throughout this challenge.
Unfortunately, I barely talk to the people I was friends with at my last school. I wish we had stayed in touch.5. History(School)🏣
•History is probably my favorite subject in school. Specifically European History. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with US History (it bores me a bit.)Although, I loved learning about how the colonists settled in the Americas.
My favorite time frame has to be when the Medici Family ruled in Florence, Italy. I also enjoyed learning about the Renaissance and the Enlightenment.6.Traveling🌎
•Like most people, I love to travel. Unlike most people, I haven't been many places. I hope to change that soon. My plan is to leave the US for university. I'm applying to schools in Canada, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. I hope to spend my time there traveling as much as I can.7. French (Language)🗼(Is that even the Eiffel Tower???)
•My freshman year I took Spanish. I was pretty good at it, I got an A in the class. When I moved schools I decided to change to French. It was probably the best and worst decision I've ever made.
Best: I just live the language. I spend a lot of my time listening to French singers Cœur de Pirate (she's actually from Canada) and Stromae are my favorites. I've watched different movies and TV shows. My favorite show is Les Revenants, you should look it up. I also enjoy reading in the language. To practice I changed my Wattpad language to French and found some really good stories. I also have some French penpals that I talk to regularly.
Worst: At the moment I'm failing French 2. I know it's horrible, but I spend to much time enjoying the language then actually studying things like the grammar. I'm working on my grade.8.Dogs🐕
•Who doesn't like dogs? Cats scare me.9.Music🎶
•Like most teenagers, I spend most of my time listening to music. I'm into a little bit of everything. I use Pandora and I have probably twenty something different stations that I listen to. It all depends on my mood.10. Sleeping😴
•'Nuff said...~~~
Thank you for reading day one of this challenge. I feel like this was something good for me to do and I hope you enjoyed it. I'll try to post the whole challenge list later.
