3rd Person POV

It was a normal day as Scarlett made her way through the city streets as people were out selling their new products, and she examined the new weapons that were laid out for display, which were handcrafted by a blacksmith who was still making weapons under the tent. She picked up a hammer, about the height of her, and she held it over her shoulders and felt its cold iron on her warm skin. She put the hammer back and picked up a sword that had a diamond in the middle of the blade, and she found more interest in the sword.
"Excuse me, sir," she said as the blacksmith walked over to her. "How much are you selling this sword for?"
"Fifty dollars," he said as he crossed his arms. "You're my first customer today."
Scarlett pulled out her wallet from her satchel and gave the blacksmith the bag, and the blacksmith gave her then sword and the sheathe that it went in. She tied the sheathe to her belt, and she put the sword in the sheathe, realizing the sword wasn't that heavy.
"Keep the change," she said and began to walk away from the blacksmith, waving goodbye with a gentle smile. "You deserve it."
Then, as she started to walk away, she heard a gunshot piercing through the crowd, and she saw the people screaming and running. She was pushed and ran into as the citizens were like a herd of bison on a rampage, and she didn't know what to do. As the crowd disappeared, she saw the group of guards who were running after the citizens, and one guard saw her and started running after her. She ran into the alleyway to try to lose the man, and she began to scale a wall, not wanting to get into any trouble. The man was looking around the alleyway as Scarlett made it to the rooftops, and she spied on the man quietly. As he began to walk out of the alleyway, and quietly scaled down the wall and swiftly ran at him and tackled him. They fought as bullets were fired and fists were used, and she found herself being choked by the guard's gun as she was being held to a wall. She was losing breath slowly, but before she could pass out, she kicked the guard in the chest, making him fall.
"You are such a damn nuisance," he said as he spat blood out from his mouth. "Why don't you give up already?"
She held her side, which was bleeding, and she found herself being grabbed by another guard. She struggled to get free, but struggling only made her pain worse. The guard cuffed her, and the other guard hit her with his gun, making her pass out.
"The boss will be pleased," the guard said. "At least you didn't have to fight her."
The second guard put Scarlett over his shoulder, and they walked off to a place where no one could find them.

Scarlett found herself tied to a chair in a dark room, and she felt the gag that was tightly pulled over her mouth. Her jacket and combat boots were not on her, so she was in her green tanktop and blue jeans. Her side was still in pain, so she didn't attempt to get free. She just sat there and waited for something to happen, and she heard footsteps coming from outside of the room. Two people walked in to see her awake, and one of the figures walked over to her and knocked her out. She didn't know what was going on, but she just dealt with it.

A few minutes later...

Scarlett found herself in a different chair as she was in a new room, and she looked around to see this room had windows and a desk. She saw the array of scalpels and knives that sat on the desk, and she became concerned. Then, the door opened, and three men walked in, and they turned on the light, making her see them.
"Hello, Scarllet," one of them said, a man with green eyes and brown hair. "You are probably wondering why we are doing this?"
She looked at him as he approached her with a scalpel, and she was nervous and began to try to break the cuffs on her hands. She then felt the knife cut through her shoulder blade, and she winced in pain, wanting this to stop.
"There's no need to struggle," he said as he slowly cut through her left cheek. "This is just for now. There will be worse later."
She felt the blood drip down her face, and she watched the man walk over to the desk and laid the scalpel down. He walked back over to her and took the gag off of her mouth.
"You bastard!" she yelled, and the man slapped her across the face. "What do you want from me?"
"Oh, we just want a ransom so you don't die, darling," he said as he pulled out his cell phone. "We should make that phone call now."
As he called her team's headquarters, he began to tie the gag over her mouth, and she tried screaming. On the other side of the line, there was a man who answered the phone.
"Hello?" the voice on the other line asked.
"Yes, is this Scarlett's friend?" the man where Scarlett was at asked as Scarlett was still trying to scream for help, and the man slapped her face and moved the phone away from his mouth. "Shut it."
"Um, yes," the man answered and Scarlett realized the man who answered was AJ. "Why?"
"I got someone who wants to talk to you," the villain said as he took off the gag and put the phone next to Scarlett's ear. "Go on, darling. Say something."
"A... AJ," she was crying by then. "Please help me."
"Scarlett!" AJ yelled through the phone. "Where are you?"
"I'm at the-" she got to say before the gag was tied tightly over her mouth again, and the rest was muffled.
  "Scarlett?" AJ was concerned. "Scarlett!"
"Sorry, but Scarlett is busy," the man said to AJ. "You can have her back, for a price."
"Damnit," AJ cursed quietly. "What do you want?"
"We want three-hundred thousand dollars and a black vehicle to escape in," the villain said.
Scarlett was struggling to get the gag off as they had their conversation. The villain watched this and smirked, and he waited patiently for AJ to respond.
"What?!" AJ yelled. "Why so much, you bastard?!"
"Well, you don't want her to die, do you?" he asked as he approached Scarlett. "You care about her life. I know you do. So, you get me what I asked for or she dies."
"Fine," AJ sighed. "Can I have your name?"
"Matthew," he said as Scarlett looked at him, finally realizing who he was. "You will find out who I am later."
Matthew hung up the phone and looked at Scarlett with a devilish smile, and she still tried to scream, making Matthew displeased.
"Oh Scarlett," he said as he walked out of the room, turning off the lights. "When will you ever learn?"
