Chapter 3 ~ Mate

I was enjoying myself while talking to everyone. I was having a great time. Alexis was following me around like a lost puppy meeting everone I did. " Alexis, I know we're best friends and all, but we don't have to be friends with the same people," I said, not realising she wasn't listening to me at all. " Alexis. Alexis!" She completely spaced out. I turned to see who she was staring at and it turned out to be a guy doing exactly what she was, staring. They were mates whoop whoop! haha I'm so weird.

She finally left my side and I went off to mingle. I was in the middle of the crowd when I smelt something very familiar. Fresh pine. That hottie from school is here? At my pack house? Shit!! I turned and saw him heading my way. I freaked out and bolted up the stairs. What the fuck am I thinking?! I cleared my head and realised why he was so important.

He is my mate.

~ Cole's POV~

I found her. She is in the middle of the crowd. Standing there looking around. She is so pretty. No scratch that. She is so fucking sexy! In my head, I'm imagining all of the naughty things I wanted to do to her.

But she stopped my thoughts as she ran up the stairs. What the fuck? Why did she run? What did I do? This is some messed up shit. I followed her scent up the stairs to her room. I could hear her panting. I opened the door and she swiftly turned around. " Umm... I uhh.." she stuttered. her voice sent shivers up my spine. "Shhh. Its ok. You don't have to say anything," I said smoothing her hair. It is so soft like silk.

"What are you doing here?" She asked. Why was she being defensive? I'm her mate. She can trust me.

" I wanted to see my mate. You're so beautiful Harmony." she takes my breath away.

I leaned in to kiss her and when I did, my body exploded with pleasure. She made me feel so good. Fire coursed through my veins and my lips were ablaze. She ended the kiss and walked out of the room. I started to feel rejected. But why would she want to reject a future alpha?

I went downstairs in search of her. Instead, I see a drunk Alec with a cup in his hand. " Heyy maan!! try thiss itts reaally goodd," he said, sluring his words. This guy was alway drunk. But he was my beta and best friend. Anyway, he does everything drunk. Talking, sleeping, walking, fighting, fucking or even having some chick suck his dick, he does it all drunk. " What is it?" I asked.

" Uhh wolfsbayne."

" The fuck you say? Are you trying to poison me mate?"

" Nahhh man. Drinnk itt itss ssooo gooddd hahaha." he looked wilder than usual. What the hell did this drink do to him. Well, if my mate is going to act like a stranger, I might need some. I skulled the drink. It was half full. I coughed and fell to my knees. God this drink is burning my throat.

"Tell me you didn't completely finish that drink." I heard someone say. I got up to see who it was. "Who are you?" I asked, my head was fuzzy.

"I'm jarred," he said politely. He was being nice so I wasn't about to be rude.

" Have you had this before?" I asked

" Hah yeah. It's a killer. We call it taint. Spreads through you and just like that, you're drunk." He was smiling at me. I stared down at my empty cup. "Well I'm screwed." We laughed and he walked off.

I found Harmony at the food table. I walked over to her. Well, at least I tried not to fall over. I went up behind her and she was looking at strawberries. I picked one up and attepted to feed it to her. " I can feed myself thankyou very much," she said.

" So?" I replied.

She took a bite and I ate the rest.

" I believe we just made a baby," I said. I believe we just made a baby? What? Who says that!? My thoughts were broken from her laughter. Hey, she's laughing. Psshhh fuck she thinks I'm funny. I don't care what I said. I'm over the fucking moon.

"It takes more than sharing saliva to make a baby," she replied smiling.

" Well why don't we go up to your room and you can show me how to make one?" Now I felt like a dumb little shit.

"Umm yeah. Good luck with getting me to do that for you." She was so calm about it. She was still smiling as she left.

I caught up to her. "Hey girl don't leave. Do you want to dance?" I said before tripping on thin air. Shit.

" Wait. Did you drink taint?" She asked while I got up off the ground. I cleared my throat. " Uhh.. noo. No I did," I slurred my words. And I think I said 'no I did'. That motherfucking drink is killing me!

I completely fell and I was out.
