Chapter 5: Heir to the Business

It was a quiet family dinner like always, Jayden sat quietly in his chair as everyone ate. He was on his phone texting Brianna, wondering if she was okay after her snowboard accident causing her to break her ankle. He stopped texting when he saw a hand with a wedding ring that had a diamond the size of a dime attached to it. Jayden looked up and saw Karlie not amused.

"You know I feel about phones at the table now hand it over or put it away." Karlie said.

Jayden put his phone on silent and put it on the table. Xantos looked at his grandson, Jayden as he ate the food on his plate.

"Jayden there isssss sssssomething I want to talk to you about." Xantos said.

Jayden stopped chewing and then gave a hard swallow before he looked at his mom

"Mom may I be excused?" Jayden sounded scared.

"Sure, after your grandfather says what he has to say." Karlie said.

Jayden stood stiff as a boards as Xantos smiled at him.

"Me and your father have been talking and we have decided that you are the heir to the family businessssss." Xantos said.

"How does that sound?" Aphrodite squealed.

"Awful." Jayden said sickened.

"Oh I knew you would be ex-- wait did you just saw awful?" Aphrodite asked.

"Yes. Yes I did," Jayden got up from his chair, "I don't want to run a weapon or drug or whatever trade with other Mafia gangs and call it a business! That maybe you but that's not me!"

Jayden stormed out of the dining room. Zenix smiled sinisterly and chuckled. Karlie got up from her chair and stormed off.

"Why are you mad?" Castello asked.

"Because you didn't consult me. You talked to your father. What about me? Rember your wife, your partner, your lover, the woman you married and the mother of your babies? Where was we you were deciding our son's future?" Karlie shouted.

"Karlie this is a guy-thing you wouldn't understand." Castello groaned.

Karlie marched over to him and choked him by pulling him closer when she grabbed his tie. Castello's eyes went wide, knowing Karlie she gets a little psycho when she's mad and for some reason he was always attracted to her even more when she got like that.

"I don't think you understand. I am the mother, the wife, the one that you shouldn't upset. You are the Don, not your father not your brother, you and only you. You may be the man of the house and the one who 'wears the pants' but I'm the boss. Do I make myself clear?" Karlie growled.

Castello gulped and lightly nodded. Karlie pulled him closer giving him a sweet gentle passionate kiss, once she let go she had a bright smile.

"Thank you sweetie you're the best." She said before walking off.

"So on a scale of 1 to 10 how turned on are you by that?" Xavior asked.

"11." Castello said before getting up.

Upstairs, Jayden's room was filled with steam, he walked out of his bathroom wearing a white fluffy bathrobe towel drying his hair. He laid on his bed and side. A picture of Zenix having the same smirk on his face at the dinner table popped in his head.

"Zenix," Jayden's shot his eyes open, "he wanted this to happen. That jerk, he has never liked me. Emmalyn too she never liked me ever since I became 'perfect', but then again she's always been a bit of an attention whore."
