Niall's POV

"Was it something that I did to him? Do you think he's mad at me? Oh my god, I sound like a girl," I groaned, sinking down on my couch and letting out an almost defeated sigh.

Harry's behaviour had been the only thing that was on my mind. For some reason, I couldn't help but feel incredibly stressed about it as if it were all my fault. I knew that I didn't need to act like this, considering Harry hadn't made a big deal about it and was simply acting as if everything was fine. Surely that meant that he didn't want me to worry about it.

Unless, of course, he was intentionally playing dumb because he wanted me to question his behaviour. Maybe he wanted me to take action rather than do it himself and it was all my fault for not doing something about it any sooner.

"That's a little sexist, don't you think? You don't see me on the verge of tears because of a relationship. And in case you didn't know...I'm all female," Jade replied, sitting next to me and rolling her eyes.

"I am not on the verge of tears," I huffed. "And you don't count. Being on the verge of tears requires you to have at least some emotion."

"Hilarious," she rolled her eyes yet again. She muttered something else under her breath. I couldn't hear what she said but judging by the expression on her face, I knew exactly what she was thinking.

"But what if I did do something wrong? What stupid thing have I done recently?" I asked. Jade looked at me with a raised eyebrow. Judging by the look in her eyes, I immediately regretted asking her.

"Well just to name a few, you fake dated a boy that you hated just to piss your parents off, had sex with said boy with your parents in the other room, dated another guy in order to get said guy jealous--"

"Jade, that wasn't an invitation for you to judge my whole life. A little sympathy would be nice, you know," I rolled my eyes.

"Ni, I'm supposed to be the dramatic one here. You need to calm down," she replied, raising an eyebrow.

"Why is it that when things are fine you feel the need to start drama but when something is happening you're acting like everything is fine?" I asked, letting out a huff.

"Because that would make me a nice person," she replied calmly, a smug expression overtaking her face.

"And that's a bad thing because...?" I trailed off, raising an eyebrow as I awaited for her response.

"Look, maybe he's just got some things on his mind. I mean, spending extended amounts of time with you does tend to fuck with your brain at least a little," she shrugged.

"Jade," I whined. I was used to people complaining about me being dramatic, since nearly everyone had some opinion about my company being draining but Jade's 'advice' was doing nothing to make me feel better. Not to mention, slightly hypocritical of her to say.

"Sorry. Would you rather me lie to you and say that being around you brings a sense of calm?" she continued, seemingly finding my reaction amusing. "Because I can. You, Niall Horan, are a ray of sunshine in my miserable life. Being your friend is like a breath of fresh air--"

I let out a sigh, effectively cutting her off and causing her to laugh. Although she was incredibly annoying, maybe I could see where she was coming from. It was as if I had woken up this morning and decided to be as overemotional as possible.

"Look, I'm sorry for being so dramatic but can we please just go back to the important issue. I might have fucked things up with Harry and I didn't even know what I did," I replied.
