Niall's POV
"I'm so happy for you," I murmured, burying my face in Jade's hair and grinning when I felt her punch me in the arm, most likely for supposedly messing her hair up.
I pulled away from her, eyes raking over her slim figure covered by a white dress. Yeah, quite some time had passed and Jade was now officially a married woman.
Jade turned and glanced over her shoulder, smiling fondly at the blonde who was engaged in a conversation with Harry, blue eyes sparkling from across the room.
"I am pretty lucky, aren't I?" she questioned, turning back to me with a large grin on her face.
I wasn't really shocked when Jade announced the news to me. Her and Perrie had practically been married for almost six years. They moved in together pretty much as soon as school ended and had been inseparable since.
"Just think, we could have been in this position," I rolled my eyes, thinking back to the romance that my parents desperately wanted us to have.
"Why? Are you jealous?" she smirked.
"Not in the slightest," I said, glancing towards Harry, who seemed completely engrossed in whatever Perrie was saying.
"So when's your wedding?" she questioned, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Jade, we aren't engaged. You know that," I sighed.
Harry and I were planning to move in with each other. Of course, nothing was set in stone and I was still living in a shitty apartment with Louis but I didn't think marriage was in the cards for us at that current moment. At least not until we lived together.
"Not yet. I think he's going to ask you soon," she commented.
"And why does he have to ask me? Can I not ask him?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Well I just assume that Harry would like to get married within the next twenty years," Jade replied smugly.
"It'll happen eventually. We're still young and trying to get settled. We have to focus on university now anyways," I sighed.
"Come on, babe. Leave him alone," Perrie's voice suddenly appeared, chuckling fondly as she sank down on the chair beside her now wife.
Perrie also looked incredibly beautiful, though she had always been attractive, even throughout high school. She had been blessed with such perfect porcelain skin as a teenager and she still carried those beautifully bold features into young adulthood.
"Even though she's definitely right," her face split into a grin, causing Jade to look at me with a smug expression.
"Nothing's changed then," I rolled my eyes, the two girls bursting into laughter.
I couldn't deny that I wanted to marry Harry. Things had gone so well for us since high school. A lot of fighting and a near breakup that I knew was to be blamed on by my stress as final exams approached but things always fixed themselves in the end and Harry and I would get out the other side even stronger than before.
But marriage was a stressful thing. Harry and I had decided to wait until our lives were sorted out before making any big lifetime commitments. We had of course discussed the topic of marriage though without actually saying the word. I didn't want to put ideas into Harry's head because knowing the spontaneous individual that Harry was, it would certainly give him ideas.
I wasn't really used to seeing happy marriages occur, seeing as my parents weren't exactly what you could call a happily married couple. I didn't let that impact my relationship with Harry but I didn't want to stress myself out more than I currently needed.
