Bruttnet had shouted at me at the beginning of class and threw a pencil
at me. She was giving a lecture to the class about the importance of being
quiet. I sighed and tapped my black and white converse together. Not
thinking, I accidently caught the attention of Bruttnet.
"Ahem! Ember! I thought I told you to get your feet off the desk!" Bruttnet
shouted at me. I cracked a smile, knowing I had to be a smart-aleck.
"Technically, my feet aren’t on the desk, my shoes are." Everyone in the
class laughed, Jennifer sitting beside my leaned over and gave me a fist
punch. Bruttnet looked as if she would explode, which she did.
"WOLF! Go to the principal’s office! NOW" She pointed out the door. I
sighed and took my feet off the desk and slung my bag over my shoulder.
While walking out of the door, I cracked an evil grin. I stopped in the
middle of the classroom and started digging through my bag. I grabbed my
English textbook and threw it at the teacher, hitting her right in the head.
My eyes got wide, so did my grin. I ran out the door, hearing everyone
go ooooo! Bruttnet walked out the door, shaking my fist at me. I laughed
and ran towards the office, but instead of going in, I walked into the girl’s
Bathroom. I dropped my bag and looked at myself in the mirror. I
laughed as I saw the image of Bruttnet getting hit in the head.
I splashed some water on my face and grabbed my bag and straightened
up. I walked towards the office and walked in. I looked up and my
mouth dropped open. I saw Taylor sitting beside Rory. Rory's face was
a wreck. His nose and mouth were bleeding and both eyes were black.
Taylor was the same but only one black eye. Taylor saw my staring at them
through the doorway and gave me a sheepish smile.
"H-hi Ember." I walked up beside him and sat in a chair beside him. I
sighed and looked at Taylor.
"Why did you and Rory get into a fight?" I whispered into his ear. Taylor
sighed and whispered back, "He said you were emo and gay. So I beat him
up." I couldn't help but smile. It warmed my heart that my boyfriend
stood up for me.
"Now why are you here?" Taylor asked, glaring at me, but also not very
surprised. I scratched the back of my head.
"I had my feet up on the desk and also threw a book at Mrs. Bruttnet's head.
It hit my too." I tried not to smile but couldn't help it. Taylor's eyes were
wide and with a very wide smile. He hugged mye and started laughing.
"Nice! I bet that looked epic when it hit my!" Taylor was smiling proudly at
me. I was about to reply, but then Mr. Chodley, the principal, walked in
and stared at us disappointedly.
