Max's P.O.V:

Ugh...why did Phoebe have to ask me?

I walked down to my lair and laid down on my bed, putting the washrag back on my head. Colosso was alseep, which I was thankful for.

I heard footsteps coming down my stairs and I groaned in annoyance.

"Phoebe, I don't want to talk about it..."

"I wasn't going to ask you to..." she laid down on my bed beside me.

I sighed and closed my eyes.

"Can I sleep in here?" she asked quietly, and I could tell she was getting tired.

"Whatever..." I mumbled before I went to sleep.

--------TIME SKIP--------

I woke up, and finally felt well rested. I hadn't felt this good since...well...since the nightmares started. I looked to my left when I felt heat beside me.

Phoebe? Oh...nevermind... I thought to myself as I looked at my watch.

6:37 AM

I looked over at my stairs, which were now creaking for some reason.

"Max, and...Phoebe?" Dad walked into the light.

"She just got tired, Dad... Nothing to worry about."

"Okay...well its almost time for you guys to get ready for your birthday party."

"Oh, yeah!" I smiled and started shaking Phoebe awake.

"Ugh...oh. Hi, Max."

"Happy birthday..." I muttered as I climbed out of bed.

"And the same to you," she smiled. Then her smile wavered,"Max...can you tell me about what happened yesterday?"

I sighed. I guess I shouldn't have been that harsh,"Okay...fine. I'll tell you...everything."

I proceeded to tell her about my nightmares, and about how everytime I woke up that it scared me.

"So...you care about us...?" she asked, clearly surprised.

"As much as I don't want to say it...yes."

She smiled, then I felt her arms wrap around me. She was giving me a hug.

It took a second to process, but I eventually hugged back.

"Thanks for telling me... Now let's get ready for our birthday!" Phoebe jumped out of my bed and ran upstairs, probably to take a shower.

I smiled, then thought as I got ready:

Maybe being good...isn't so bad after all...
