This was not happening, everything suddenly comes muzzled and blurred, Katniss comes running to me and hugs me, but I can't hug back and she tells me to find mum. It's like I was a baby again and the only word I could say was no, but before to long Gale comes picks me up but I'm still screaming no over and over again. Gale takes me back to my mother and then goes back to the boys. I huddle next to mum thinking about a life without Katniss. Suddenly I come back to reality and hear the makeup lady speak.
'What's your name' She asks Katniss. I could feel what Katniss was feeling as she says her name. Why am I crying? Katniss is going to the games not me and she's going to the games not me but then again Katniss had always been stronger and now what kind of family are we now.
'I bet my button that was your sister' the makeup lady says again. Katniss nods.
'Right then, now for the boys' I see Katniss perk up and I know why. Gale. What if he gets chosen?
The lady pulls out a name.
'Peeta Mellark' I breathe in relief. Who was he? I'm pretty sure he was the bakers son. The bakery where Katniss takes me sometimes to look at the cakes.
He walks up to the stage.
' Right you two, shake hands'
Katniss and Peeta look at each other and something flichers through their eyes, its like they know each other. They shake hands and get pushed off the stage. Everyone walks off except Gale, mother and me. We all hold hands and walk to the little building to say goodbye.
When we arrive, Katniss is leaning against the wall but as soon as she sees mother and me she comes forward and hugs me but quickly pulls me away again.
'Prim we don't have much time, you can survive without, you can get stuff from your goat and whatever you do, don't get terrase' Shes talking like she's going to die so I say it.
'just try to win, maybe you can'
'maybe I can' she smiles 'I can hunt'
'yes' I nod and unpin the mockingjay pin. 'to protect you' tears are sliding down my face.
Katniss looks at me and smiles, she kisses and hugs me. Then stands up and moves to mum. They talk about me like im not there and Katniss telling mum what to do if she dies. I try not to listen. At the end they hug for a bit but then the peacekeeper comes in drags me and my mum and I've gone to back to the stage where I'm shouting no and no again. The peacekeeper was stronger through and all I end up hearing is.
'I promise Prim'
