Prims POV

The Flames

I stare at projection like I'm addicted to it, maybe I am. I am. I am addicted to it. It's night time, maybe like midnight and Katniss is asleep but still I'm worried, anything could happen. I hear a knock on the door. Mum was busy with the herbs so I went and answered. I knew who it was. Gale.

'hey, I got some food' I smile.

"thanks' I take the food and go back into the house and put it on the table. Gale comes in and turns to the screen. I look up too. Katniss wakes up to the careers voices in the distance. There is smoke rising and a girl screams as the careers kill her. They walk right past the tree Katniss is in, laughing and pushing each other around  but then I see him.

Peeta

A million words rush through my head such as betrayal.

'What is he doing there' I ask to Gale.

'He's protecting Katniss' he saids ' He probably has to, to stay alive'

Then I suddenly get it, Katniss agreed to the act star-crossed lovers. She looks so devastated, probably doesn't see the trick.

'You sure she went this way' The district 2 boy, Cato saids.

'yeah  I'm sure' Peeta saids and they walk off. I see Katniss sigh in relief, the only thing is.

She's a target.

I stayed up all last night, so now I'm really tired. With eyes closing all the time, I sit on the couch we have with Gale and watch.

The sound of fire feels my ears and so does to Katniss's she wakes up to the sound of the fire. She unties the rope and jumps off the tree and runs, not even that, she sprints away from the fire. Fire bombs flying everywhere. A fire bomb hits a tree and burns Katniss and she moves into a little cave. She screams in pain. The burn is really. Then I realise I'm crying and Gale's heart beat is beating so fast and he's hugging me so close.

Mum comes into the door, quickly sits with us and hugs both of us close. Another fire ball comes but Katniss dodges and continues running even through the pain probably hurts like hell.

She gets to the river in a collapse, but she isn't there for long before I see Peeta and closely followed  the careers.

'There she is' one of them shouts. Katniss runs away fast as she can to the tree.

She quickly runs up the tree but not quick enough. The careers see her and they try to hit her, to kill her but they all fail.

'Why don't we set up camp here, she has to come down eventually' Peeta says.

'yeah ok, someone light a fire' Cato says as he lies down to sleep. I see Katniss sigh in relief and she checks her burn. You can tell it's hurting her really badly as a tear comes out of her eyes.

Gale who I guess couldn't bear it left saying he was going hunting.

When he leaves, I hear a bell sound, the sound of a sponser.

Katniss gets it from a different and sits down again and opens it.

It's from Haymitch I think by the way Katniss rolls her eyes. It's cream for the burn.

Katniss sighs in relief as she puts it on and the evening starts.
