I yawned and stretched hitting the dismiss off my alarm on my phone. I peaked an eye open before opening both. My adorable kitten Minnie had crawled in bed with me and was sleeping in a perfect little ball at my side. I smiled down and her and carefully reached for my phone. I had to get a picture of this adorable little beast. I quickly flashed a picture and then maneuvered my way out of the bed. I grimaced re-checking my phone and seeing over ten missed calls and texts calling for my attention. I shrugged to myself. It can wait for now I had to shower and get ready for my ACT which was in two and a half hours.

I slipped into the warm spray of the shower and allowed myself to wake up completely. I attempted to memorize some vocab words but decided it was too much work. I wasn't worried about taking my ACT. I knew I was gonna do fine and that's not me just being cocky. The key to success is positive thinking.

Ten minutes later after I rinsed my hair I heard my brother Aystin banging on the door so I quickly shut the water off. Wouldn't do any of us good to piss him off before he went to school this morning. Aystin is what you'd call...a problematic kind of kid. Wherever he goes trouble seems to follow. After multiple parent teacher meetings and meetings with counselors it was determined we'd all just let Aystin live his life. He bang on the door again.

"Ace," he called as I started getting dressed, "Mom wants to talk to you."

I hated it when he called me Ace(which was short for Acelyn) but decided to let it go. I needed to stay in a positive up beat mood so I could be ready to take the ACT. I didn't want anymore pressure than I already had on me. The college I wanted to go to insisted on having a high ACT score to guarantee admittance.

"Okay Aystin," I said through the door, "I'll be right out."

That was such a lie. I still had to finish blow drying my hair, straighten it, then do the little make up that I do wear and low and behold I'd be ready.

"Yeah right," I heard him snicker.

I ignored him and focused on straightening my hair. Everything had to go perfect and be perfect. I'd put off taking my ACT too many times, I had to follow through this time. I carefully applied lipstick and was about to apply eye liner when I heard banging on the door.

"Aystin just give me five more minutes," I told him.

"Ace what are you doing in there you've been in the bathroom for practically forever," I heard my twin sister Jade(really Jadyn)call.

"Will everyone please stop calling me Ace, " I groaned as she threw open the door.

"Well good morning to you too grumpy," she said shutting the door behind her.

I watched as she jumped on the bathroom counter and tried to ignore her as I tried to put on my eye liner. Every last piece had to be perfect.

Jades POV

I watched Acelyn steady out her hand and grinned. I slowly leaned down to her.

"Can I help you with something Jade," she asked obviously annoyed.

"Noope," I said popping the p with a smacking sound I knew she hated.

She grimaced as I knew she would. I jumped down beside her as she finished. I gave her a once over. From head to toe she was dressed preppy as opposed to my everyday casual.

"Do I look like I'm trying too hard," she suddenly asked, "This outfit must be perfect so that I must be perfect and this day will be--"

I cut her off.

'Yah. Yah. Perfect," I finished for her.

We stared at each other for a moment. Acelyn and I could not be more different for identical twins. Her eyes were green with a little hint of brown in them. I knew mine were hazel often confused for brown with green in them. Our hair was straight and blond. I wore mine to shoulder length and she wore hers in a swing bob. I grinned at her and she smiled back. I rose my left hand and she rose her right.
