Author's notes: I know you guys are pissed. But don't worry; it'll get better eventually. And some of you should seriously consider anger management classes. Just saying...  ~~Alex

"Munch said "Hi Crunch!" and Crunch said "Hi Munch!" Then Gobble came along and Munch and Crunch ran away.

That has nothing to do with this story in any way. I just want to waste you time as payback for doing this. Juliahna is shit. And Rachel is a gullible girl. If Ricky and Juliahna were good enough to get Patrick away from Rachel, then Juliahna would have no problem getting a FAKE, yes FAKE, doctor's note saying she was gonna die.

~Woot~ The Heartless Bitch, Longtime321/Shikha If you didn't already know my name."

Patrick is so innocent. He has no idea of what occurs around him. Someone could rob a bank and he'd think they were playing hide and seek with the money. So he obviously didn't understand anything that had occurred since he was born. I knew that one day he'd understand, and when that day came, I'd tell him everything I kept a secret.

It had been only five days since I'd fled. Adam called me so many times, but I just let it go to voicemail. I listened to his messages. The last one was from last night; he finally understood. He hasn't called since. I spent all of my time fighting tears; I didn't want Pattie to see me this way. But he's a smart kid. He might be naïve at times, but he's five. He knew that something was wrong, and he'd come and hug me for hours to try to cheer me up.

We'd moved into a nice apartment in Chicago. That was one place I hadn't been but wanted to try out.

"Mommy, I have a surprise for you! Come look!" Patrick yelled.

I smiled. I could always count on him to cheer me up. He was the only thing I had left in this world, really. Fame could only satisfy you in so many ways. Money wasn't all that important to me. True, it was nice to be able to go on crazy shopping sprees without regrets, but I never was a material person.

I walked over to the kitchen where Patrick's voice came from, and my eyes widened when I saw the enormous mess he'd left. But in the middle of that mess was a messy looking cake with a Spongebob candle on it.

"Look, Mommy, I made you a cake!"

That might just be the most adorable thing he's ever done!

"Aw, sweetie," I cooed, "that is so sweet! Thank you!"

He smiled and brought the plate towards me, and stuck a spoon in it.

"Do you want me to go get the matches?"

"Oh, no, no, no, it's fine!"

I love the kid to death, but I'm not even going to go there.

"I wanted to cheer you up, 'cause you're always so sad!"

I smiled and hugged him. Was he the best, or what?

The cake was surprisingly good. Maybe he has a future as a chef. It actually remarkably good, considering he's five and he probably cooks better than I do now.

Juliana's plan had worked to perfection. She had guessed right about Rachel; she really was too nice for her own good.

She had fled as soon as she'd told her. She took Patrick with her, and she broke Adam's heart. Juliana hadn't dared approach Adam yet until he'd accepted the fact that Rachel wasn't coming back.

Today was the day she'd approach him. Early one Thursday morning, Juliana parked in front of Adam's house, got out, and rang the doorbell. A groggy, miserable looking young man with disheveled jet black hair and striking blue eyes opened the door. It was Adam.

He narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing here, Juliana? Don't you think you've done enough?"

Here was where Juliana's three years of junior high acting classes paid off.

Juliana's eyes watered as she spoke. "Please don't speak to me like that."

Adam scoffed. "Like you deserve any better."

"I've changed, Adam. I had to."

He just raised an eyebrow in response. "I'm sorry for everything. I'm sorry I was so awful, I'm sorry I did such awful things! But I had to. I didn't have to, no; I thought I had to."

"What on earth are you talking about?"

"A few years ago I was diagnosed with leukemia. The doctors said I would be fine with proper treatment, but I refused to go through chemotherapy. I didn't want to be bald."

That Adam could believe.

"So I only took medications. But I regret that now. The doctors warned me of the mistake I was making, but I didn't listen. Now it's too late for me. Even if I started taking chemotherapy it'd do no good. I only have two years to live. The reason I'm telling you all of this is because I knew I was gonna die. But I didn't want to die without living out my happily ever after. The day I met you, I knew you were the one I wanted to be with. I went to extremes to keep you by my side. But I did it all for love. All I'm asking for is a second chance. I have two years to live, and I don't wanna die without you."

Adam was torn. He didn't love Juliana, but how could he say no to her after hearing all of this?

"What are you saying?"

"I'm asking you to be with me. I'm asking you to marry me the day you were gonna marry Rachel."
