The loud trotting of the horse's feet slammed up in my eardrum as the three of us raced through the woods. Sebastian looked around frantically, on occasions making sharp turns. Ciel strayed in the back, struggling to keep his horse under control. I kept up my pace, following Sebastian like a shadow.
Like a shadow...
Almost like what Sebastian was to Ciel....
We kept up this ritual until Sebastian slowed to a stop and looked around, staring into the leafy trees. CIel and I slowed as well, parking our horses beside Sebastian's. We kept quiet for a moment or so, until I grew impatient and burst out my questions.
"Um, Sebastian? What are we doing?" I asked.
"Sh, he's here." He answered back, hoping off of his horse and siganlling us to do the same. I nodded, doing so as well as Ciel. Sebastian coughed a bit, and began to speak again. "Say, Young Master, isn't today a bright and lovely day?" He howled, his voice a yell now. Ciel simply glared at him and looked over to me.
"Sure." He replied bluntly.
Sebastian rolled his eyes, yelling once more. "Riley, how do you like your new crimson dress that we gave to you?! Red suits you very well!" He signalled for me to put emphasis on the words having to deal with the color 'red'.
Rustling in the branches...
I chuckled, ignoring it and yowled back. "Why, yes, Sebastian! I absolutly adore it! I can't thank you nor Ciel enough! Its even great that you gave me one that was red! I wish I could paint everything red!" I howled.
Giggles from the treetops.
Sebastian smiled and mouthed the words, "Its working" without making a sound. I nodded back and smirked as his calm voice echoed in my head again.
"I couldn't agree more!" He howled. We cackled together, both of us getting confused looks from Ciel.
"My, my, Sebastian! Seems we meet again!" Yowled a voice from above us. A man fell from out of the tree branches, landing right in front of us. He had long, blood-red hair with a women's trenchcoat in the most delightful hugh of red. He had skull earrings and red, rectangular glasses that covered his hypnotizing green eyes. His teeth were pointed like a vampire's fangs.
There was something very familiar about this man.
"Seems you've also brought a lovely lady along with you!" He hissed, clasping his hands together and walking around me. I felt his face get nest to my ear. "And I don't say that about many women... You should feel very special." He purred.
I gulped and nodded. He smirked and grabbed a few strands of my blonde hair, tugging it gently and letting go of it. He walked away from me, leaving a trail of goosebumps on my arms and a bright red blush on my face to match my dress.
Still, something about him was... edgy. I couldn't seem to place my finger on it, though it rested at the very tip of my tongue.
Then it hit me:
This man, was the man from my horrid nightmare.
