Chapter 1

Once upon a time, there was a young girl named Jordan Williams. She had a mother and a father who loved her very much. She had a best friend named Alex and he was the best guy a girl could have for a friend. She lived a very quiet, decent life. She got married to a nice young man, who she loved dearly, at the age of 25. Together they had 3 kids. She grew old with her husband until one day when she was 85 years old; she died in the arms of her husband, who died about 5 minutes after she did. Then, she had a fantastic life in up in heaven where she got to look down on her children and grandchildren living there lives, until they joined her in heaven one day, the end.

What you have just read is a complete lie. Yes, my name is Jordan Williams. And yes, my best friend is named Alex and he is the most wonderful person I know. But, everything else is totally false. I don't have a mom anymore, she was murdered. My dad’s heart turned to stone after that, and then I was taken from him. My life will never be quiet and I don't get to pick who I marry. I probably won't die in my sleep; I'll probably die like my mom. The wonderful story above is what I would love to happen, my fantasy. In reality I am a monster, so is everyone else I know.

In order for you to really get what I mean, I will have to take you back to my 8th birthday.

It was a windy night, I remember that. Everyone had just gone home and my dad had fled to his office as soon as the last person left the house. I walked out on the deck and looked out to my backyard; the swing set caught my attention right away. I smiled and happily skipped down the stairs and to the yellow swings.

I sat on the swing and started pumping my legs back and forth, getting higher and higher. I remember the feeling of the wind hitting my face, my hair swinging back and forth. For me, when I was 8 years old, this feeling of flying was bliss.

I jumped off the swing right as I was coming down. Usually I would land on my feet, but this time I fell down. I pushed myself off the ground, when I looked up I saw something go into the forest that was like a fence on the left side of my house.

I looked at my house, then back at the forest. I was trying to decide whether to go back inside or to follow the thing into the forest. I walked slowly around the side of the house and into the woods. As I got deeper and deeper into the forest, it got darker and darker. The only thing keeping me going was the sound of twigs breaking, the sound I was following. I can’t really explain it but I felt drawn to it, whatever it was, I had to keep following.

Finally, I came to a clearing; nothing was in the wide open space except one big boulder directly in the middle. The clearing was surprisingly lightened, by the moonlight seeping in. I slowly walked toward the boulder and I waited. I don't know how long I waited but, I waited.

After what seemed like forever a girl walked in. She had long blonde hair that went down to the middle of her back and blue eyes, She had a splatter of freckles across her high cheek bones, she was slender, tall, and couldn't have been more than 25 years old. She looked like the exact opposite of me, despite our obvious age difference. I, even at 8 years old, was short, still slim, but short. I also have medium length brown hair and green eyes. She was simply wearing dark jeans and a purple tank top.

She knelt down in front of the boulder and bowed her head, all of a sudden, she went from a girl to a rust colored wolf. I gasped and cowered away a little bit. She rested her paws on the boulder in front of me and before I knew what was happening, she sank her teeth into my right shoulder. I screamed as pain shot all through my body, sprouting from the bite.

After that it all went dark...

I the first thing I saw when I woke up was red. It took me a while to realize that it was a red ceiling. Everything in the room was red, gold, white, or made of oak. The blonde girl was sitting in an oak chair, directly across from the bed I was sitting on, and right in front of the white door.
