Chapter 23: Birthday Time

Your POV
Today was just another 'exciting' birthday. Note the sarcasm. I always hated my birthday because I never do anything fun. I'm turning twenty six. Twenty six years of nothing on my birthday except complete hell. I got dressed and walked out my door.

"Happy birthday y/n." Evan and Craig said. I smiled and thanked them. I went into the kitchen and saw the others.

"Happy birthday y/n!" They all said.

"Happy birthday my favorite lady." Lui said in his childish voice. I smiled.

"Thank you guys." I said.

"Sorry to ruin your day but we need to go shopping." Lui said kissing my cheek. I faked a smile but deep inside I was hurt.

"Here open this." Lui handed me an envelope and they left.

"Bye y/n!" They all said.

"Bye." I said having my voice sounding shaky. When I heard the door close I let all my emotions out and started to cry. I opened the envelope shaking.

Dear y/n,
                 We are all so very sorry to leave you on your special day but where we need to be is important. But if you follow these instructions you will be a lot better than what are feel right now. Just find the right locations and find the next clue. Here is your first one:
                        Where you find your bed after a long day. Where you lay on your bed and pretend it is a bay.

What did this mean? I thought about it and I soon mentally face palmed myself and figured out that it was my room. I went to my room and saw presents with balloons taped to them. There were 8 of them indicating one was from all the guys. I smiled and wiped my tears. I saw another envelope and saying that I could open the presents first. I wanted to open them with the guys so I didn't open them. I read the next clue.
                            When cars drive in and out the road never changes. When silence is near you go here to read some pages.

After I read that I knew exactly where the next clue was. I had this 'secret' place where I read books. It's nothing important I only go there when I'm bored. It's in front of the house with the fountain with the garage in front of it. I sit next to the fountain because I listen to the sound of water while reading. I went to my 'secret' place and found the next clue.
It's where your life changed around. The next time, don't look down.

I laughed at the clue knowing Evan probably wrote this one. I went inside and grabbed my keys and got into my car and drove to where Evan and I met. There it was. The next clue.
It's your first date! Don't want to be late!

I thought about it and realized that it was where Lui and I had our first date. I got into my car again and drove off to the restaurant. The next clue was awaiting me.
Sorry I went insane. But this area might still be the same!

Yep. Jonathan wrote this. I quietly sighed. I didn't want to go back to that area. But I had to. So I drove off to the area. I shivered and quickly went into the basement. I grabbed the envelope and ran upstairs because I didn't want to be in that place for long. I read the next clue.
They say I'm not allowed there again. It's probably because I am black! Well I'm never coming back.

I laughed knowing Marcel wrote this one. Two days ago we went to the store, just me and him, I brought him along because I needed help on getting the right things. He was racing the carts and he accidentally ran into the wine section. They kicked him out and I just stood there laughing. And he even yelled 'is it because I'm black?!' I lost it there. I drove to the store and walked inside. And there was the next clue.
My favorite thing in the world. Yer a potato genius so spread the word.

Nogla wrote this one only because I couldn't think of anyone who would likes potatoes in the crew. I knew it was at the nearby potato farm. I drove there and surprisingly it was my first time being here. I found the next clue.
With all these left and rights. You might need to take the time and get a bite.

I was confused at this one. Where does he mean by 'a bite'? I knew it was at a restaurant but which one? It took me a while to realize that there was a restaurant that was named 'Take A Bite'. I got into my car and drove there. I went inside and there they were. Sitting and waiting for me to come. I started to cry tears of joy.

"You guys..." I said crying and smiling. I looked around and at the end of the hallway there was a final gift with my favorite color balloon taped on it. I walked towards them and hugged them all.

"Happy birthday y/n." Lui said in his normal voice. I smiled and kissed him on the lips. We sat down and grabbed some food.

"Finally we can eat!" Jonathan said. We all laughed and started eating. We talked and talked about video games and other things.

"When we get home we are opening those presents." I declared. I tried not to laugh or smile but failed. They all laughed and nodded their heads. Today was the greatest birthday ever. And I am glad that I spent it with the people I love. Especially Lui.
