Chapter 9

the woment carring me sighed as i waited for her to start explaining, i was finally going to get answers.

" i dont really know how to put this...Mina, I'm going to tell you this story from the where it had all started, and i need you to be strong. ok?" she said sweetly. i nodded.

"ok... you... you were not alawys Mina Biers, you were at one point in time a girl named sarah blank! and you saddly died at 17. when in the process of going to heaven, the demons chose to use you to strengthen them, demons eat the souls of people to survive,they live off them. thats where the people at the "second chances" come in, we help the people who were taken by  demons, some arent so lucky though." i was breathing hard, what could she mean by all of this? "when i rescued you, i soon discovered that the demons had already taken part of your soul, so in order to allow you to be reborn, i had to replace the missing piece of your soul. our only choice was to take some power away from the protection sheild. the protection sheild is a sheild we put over you while being regenerated to protect you from the demons. since a part was missing from that the demons were able to get in sooner. also, i must say that to power the regenerator, we had to take one of your senses. at the time you were sarah, sarah chose for you to be blind. there was no going around it." she said.

" um....c-can you stop for a second... this is all to much.." i whispered.

"yes. i realize, im terribly sorry." she said kindly.  so instead of going to heaven as sarah i was taken by the demons but then rescued so i could be reborn, then sarah chose for me to be blind and the demons had gotten in sooner because of the sheild, was my whole life just a manipulated series of secrets i didnt know? 

" would you like me to continue mina?" i nodded, for curiosity took me over. i needed to know more.

"alright. soon, finally you were born, it was a normal thing for a baby to be born blind, it was just a little misfortune. but of course, you're family still loved you dearily. but the demons wouldnt give up, there was something different about your soul, and they wanted it. they couldnt reach you yet  because of the sheild. soon, they found a loop hole, they couldnt reach you, they could reach your loved ones. mina, the demons had caused you're families death.... your parents hadnt gotten in a car crash, a demon had gotten in the car causeing your parents to crash, then it had taken their souls. and mina.... though your brother was in a depression, he hadnt been the one who... hung himself. a demon had possesed his body and... and..." i knew what she was going to say... if it wasnt for the demons... my family would still be alive, malcolm would still be alive.... i burst into tears. i couldnt help it, i was so angry and sad. all my hatred used to be on the kids who bullied was, now i realize that all that hatred goes to the demons, the bullies may have made malcolm depressed but.... they didnt kill him. the demons did. the women carrying me shushed me and stroked my hair soothingly, just as my mother had when i was little.  over the littlest things like a toy that had been broken or a scrape on the knee... i slighly smiled to myself with the thought, mother was always so caring. i had to do something about these demons for my family. i sat there in silence with the lady carrying me. just then i had a huge relization, where was my cat! before the demon had taken me, the cat had been hanging onto me leg. the lady must have seen my panic because i heard her sigh and say

" i was wondering when you would remeber." i heard a "mew" and a small furball was put into my arms, i didnt loose him. i didnt believe that i could have a smile on my face after everything that has been told to me, but then one smile appeared. this cat... is something else. now i just need to take things step by step, and handle these demons.
