Chances Given

Chapter 8

I woke up feeling sore and exhausted. i had no idea where I was. there were chains wrapped tightly across my wrists and ankles making it difficult to move. i only had a slight memory of being captured. but it only felt like a vivid dream. it seemed more real now, it was. is this where the demon wanted me to join it and the other demons? there was no telling if anyone was in the room with me, i had no idea. it was torcher. just knowing i was chained up not knowing where i am. just then i heard a crash in the distance as if something fell. then i heard a scratchy voice yell, " you idiot! when will you ever learn!" it made me jump. i just realized i was shivering, it was freezing. i heard another what i suspected demon to be speaking, " 45,245! the human is awake!" another voice spoke from a little farther away. " finally, ive been waiting for this day, so many years and now we get what has gotten taken away from us!" then the other voice spoke again, "i know king, and we have all grown weaker over the years havent we?" so there was a king, this was to much for me. the king spoke, " yes, you know very well that we have grown weak... but wait no more cause the day has come. no more wasting tome lets go." just the sound of their frightning voices made me cringe, and now they were coming. what did they want with me? was one of the many questions that ran through my mind. i heard dragging footsteps coming closer to me. i started shaking a bit more my teeth clattering from cold and just being scared.

"hello my sweet mina, they took you away from us 15 years ago when you were born, we've been after you ever since." the king spoke. i didnt think i cold speak or even stop shaking but i managed to talk.

" what do you mean, who is "they"....please tell me what you want with m-me...." my voice trailed off. i couldnt get much more out.

" dont fret my sweet, you will understand everything once the time comes." the king spoke in the nicest voice he could muster. but that didnt help. i needed to know now, but they kept leaving me with no answers. I continued shivering ,clueless ,not speaking again for there was no point. i soon heard the demons speaking again.

" when shall we do it my king?" one spoke.

" be patient, not much longer." the king answered. i was so utterly lost.. it wasnt even funny how many questions went through my head. i dont know how much longer it had been but footsteps had started coming in my direction.

" how are you doing, mina. im sorry for what has happened, you must be quite frightened right now." the king stated. all i did was slightly nod, i was so numb from the cold, not to mention the terror ive been feeling.

"well, dont worry, the terror, saddness, and pain will all be over, with my help of course." said the king.

"W-what do you mean.?" i questioned again.

" allow me to demonstrate, goodbye my sweet." the king said in an evil tone. what could he do? he had just said goodbye. suddenly a thought occured to me.what the demons have wanted all along was me, literally. i didnt know how but i knew they were gonna kill me, eat me, boil me, there was no telling. the kings breathing was now right next to my face. but i couldnt do a thing. i was done for. his finger stoked my hair, then his breathing got faster as if he yearned to to something, and there was nothing i could do.

A loud bang came from not far away. this might be the one thing that saves me. the kings fingers left my hair and his footsteps went where the sound had come from.

"MIna! " someone unlocked my chaines and i was free. i couldnt move, i was so cold. suddenly arms were wrapped around me and i was being picked up. again i was lifted into the air just the way i had been brought here.

" mina, are you ok..... i came as soon as i found out." the person spoke.

"Please tell me whats happened..." i was sick of questions, i need answers.

"yes, i suppose its time you know."
