Jeon Minji's POV
No. This wasn't supposed to happen. What did I do wrong? Was it even me? Why is he like this? I should've just listened to him.
"Where are you hiding!?" I could hear the floorboards creak loudly as he stepped closer. "Come out come out wherever you are!" His psychotic voice echoed throughout the house. Our house. It was made for us, so what made him turn? What made him want to do this!?
I tried listening to the sound of the pouring rain, I tried to calm myself down, tried telling myself it was all a nightmare. But I was too caught up in my own thoughts; he'd found me.
He lifted the bed up with ease, throwing it across the room and exposing me, defenceless and confused. My hiding spot gone, I curled into a ball. What is he going to do to me? That demented smile etched onto his face, the deranged look in his eyes, he looked ready to kill. Murderous.
"Don't be scared, Minji." He whispered, kneeling beside me. "Just look at me." I didn't move; I couldn't. My body froze in fear, unable to move a muscle.
"LOOK AT ME!" He screamed, causing me to flinch. My body jumped to life at the anger in his voice, and I sat up straight, my teary eyes staring into his own.This man, he is not the same person I fell in love with. I fell in love with a kindhearted man, his smile could cure cancer, his laugh could make even the most miserable person smile, and his eyes. Oh his beautiful eyes. The way they would almost disappear into two lines every time he smiled. The way he had a habit of brushing his hand through his hair. He was caring, hardworking, considerate, selfless;
He was Park Jimin.
。。。。
About a year ago, I bumped into a guy walking past the street, but me being the clumsy person I am, decided to drop my groceries.
"Oh god! I'm so sorry!" He exclaimed, kneeling down to help me pick up the food that was littered across the pavement.
"It's okay, don't worry about it." I smiled, picking myself back up and brushing myself off."It's not okay," he sighed. "Your vegetables are spoiled."
"I'll just buy new ones." I gave the stranger a reassuring smile, then turned back towards the grocery store.
"Wait a minute!" I stopped and turned to face the stranger once again. "Let me at least get you an apology coffee?" I paused to think about it for a moment, but then nodded my head, giving in to the thought of free coffee. We walked to the nearest coffee shop, and I sat down at a table while grocery guy went and ordered coffee. I specifically chose the window seat because I like to watch the world go by; seeing happy people live their lives filled me with some kind of peace. It made me happy.
"I hope you like latte." Grocery guy, as I called him, sat down opposite me, placing two steaming cups of coffee on the table in front of us.
"I do, actually." I smiled. "Thank you."
"I should be thanking you really." He muttered.
"And why's that?""It's not everyday you get to meet a pretty girl and take her out for coffee." He smirked, causing me to giggle slightly.
"Yeah, I guess you don't always drop your groceries and then let a handsome guy persuade you into a coffee shop as an apology." I retorted jokingly, causing the both of us to laugh. Now he'd sat down, I could see his face more clearly. He had ash blonde hair and a beautifully contagious smile that made his eyes disappear into two lines every time he did so. His laugh sounded like an angel, and I'm pretty sure it would end world poverty. He looked around 20 years old, and looked considerably strong based on his height, which I noticed was about 175cm when we were walking to the coffee shop.
"My name's Jimin, by the way." He smiled warmly. "Park Jimin."
"Nice to meet you Jimin," I returned the warm smile. "My name's Jeon Minji."
"Jeon?" Jimin questioned, holding the hot latte in his hands. "You don't happen to have a brother, do you?"
"A step brother." I corrected. "His name's Jungkook."Jimin's eyebrow twitched at the mention of his name, but he was smiling a few moments later.
"I know Jungkook." He told me. "We were.... friends.... back in high school."
"Oh, that's cool!" I smiled. "I'll tell him I met you in town when I get ho-" Jimin interrupted my sentence before I could finish."I- actually.." He paused for thought. "It might not have been Jungkook, I think..." He seemed to be struggling to think. "Don't say anything, I don't want things to sound weird if it's not him."
"Okay." I replied. There was something a little strange about that, but I just brushed it off.We chattered like old ladies whilst sipping on our coffee, and time flew by. I didn't realise what time it was, when someone called me.
"Your phone's ringing." Jimin gestured towards my phone that I'd left on the table. It was buzzing away, causing the table to vibrate."Hello?" I picked up the phone and gave Jimin an apologetic look.
"Minji? Where are you?" Jungkook asked.
"Who is it?" Jimin asked.
"Hey Jungkook." I greeted his panicked voice with a calm one.
"Minji. Who are you with?" Jungkook asked sternly, the tone of his voice scaring me a little."I made a friend in town today, were at the coffee shop." I reassured him, trying to get him to calm down.
"What's his name?" He growled.
"How do you know he's a guy?" I asked."I heard his voice. Now tell me, what's his name?" Jungkook's voice became more harsh with every word he spoke, which only scared me further. He only spoke like this when something was seriously wrong.
"P-Park Jimin." I stuttered, being answered by silence from the other end of the line."Come home now." He ordered. "It's getting late."
"Okay, I'll see you soon." I replied in a cheery tone, ending the call and putting my phone in the back pocket of my jeans whilst standing up.
"I have to go now." I sighed, picking up the grocery bags that I had earlier placed on the seat next to me."Will I see you again?" Jimin asked, standing up too.
"Depends," I smirked. "Do you want to?"
"I'd love to." He replied, a smirk playing on his lips.
"How's next Sunday?" I suggested.
"Perfect. See you then." He blew me a kiss before walking off, and we went our separate ways.
