Jeon Jungkook's POV

"Were you successful in bringing Minji home?" the detective asked. I sighed, remembering that awful day.
"Yes," I replied. "But I wasn't pleased with what Jimin had sent."

"What do you mean?"
"I mean exactly that. The person that I met with the day before and the person that appeared at my doorstep were two different people." I explained.

"In what way?" She questioned.
"The girl that visited that day didn't have her usual bounce in her step. She put on a fake smile, walked differently, the lot." I told her.

"So you think Jimin changed her for the worse?" She tried to conclude what I was saying.
"More than that." I sighed. "I think he abused her."

When Minji appeared at the door I could tell right away that something was wrong, but I decided not to say anything. She flinched when I gave her a hug, and it looked like she was desperately trying to hide a limp.

"It's a good thing you're here," I sighed. "I got another email of mum, saying they were coming today instead of tomorrow."
"Oh, that's good." She smiled. It wasn't her usual one.

"They said they were only staying for the night," I added. "They're leaving tomorrow morning." The only reply I received was a small smile.

"Are you gonna take your jacket off?" I asked.
"No, I'm fine." She replied, wrapping her arms around her front slowly as if I were about to forcefully take her jacket. "It's cold in here."

It wasn't; it was 18 degrees. She must be hiding something.

After about three hours of cleaning up the house together, there was a knock on the door - to which I answered - and I saw mum and dad both stood at the door wearing wide smiles. In case you're wondering, it's my step mum and biological dad.

"Jungkook!" They greeted me, dragging their suitcases through the door.
"Hi mum, hi dad." I smiled, helping mum with her suitcase.
"Where's Minji?" Dad asked.

"I'm here!" Minji yelled bubbly, walking over with a smile on her face. Oh how I missed that smile. Her genuine smile was so beautiful, and so hard to resist. We'd all given each other hugs, and we went to sit down on the sofa.

But I turned the heating up first.

We all sat down and caught up on everything they missed, except for the fact that Minji has a boyfriend, and that we argued, and that she moved in with this boyfriend. Okay, so we missed out the everything part.

"Phew, it's hot in here." Dad breathed out, taking off his jacket. "Minji, you must be hot in those clothes."
"I am a little..." She mumbled.

"Take off your jacket then." I blurted out.
"I-I think I'll just get changed." Minji stuttered, making her way upstairs. I waited until she was out of sight, before saying:
"I need the toilet, back in a second." I stood up and headed for the stairs, the only toilet being upstairs.

Except I wasn't going to the toilet.

I opened the ajar door into Minji's (now fixed) bedroom, to see her stood in her bra, observing her back in the mirror. As soon as she saw me she grabbed her shirt in an attempt to hide herself, but it was too late. I was shocked at what I saw; two bruises either side of her forearm in the shape of hands, and a large, horizontal bruise going across her back.

"He did this, didn't he." I growled, balling my fists in anger.
"Jungkook, he didn't mean to, its oka-." I interrupted her.
"What do you mean 'he didn't mean to'!?" I raised my voice a little. "Those hand marks don't look like an accident to me."

"He apologised!" She replied. "He even made me pancakes! He was so sorry!"
"Well, if he really loved you thi-" She stopped me.
"Don't you dare give me that 'if he really loved me' crap!" She yelled. "Why does my relationship always have to be approved by you!?"

'Because I love you.' I wanted to say. 'Because I can't stand seeing you hurt' I stayed silent, and Minji exhaled before putting on a 3/4 sleeved top. It covered the bruises.
"See. Now let's go downstairs." She sighed. "We shouldn't be arguing when mum and dad are home."

And we went downstairs, and her bruises went unnoticed.
