Park Jimin's POV
"Thank you for taking the time to pay a visit, Mr. Park." The lady bowed deeply as I took off my coat, placing it on the back of my chair before sitting down.
"It's no problem." I replied, and she then proceeded to sit opposite me. "But I believe you wanted to talk to me about... my daughter?""Oh, yes." The woman smiled. "Her name is Areum, isn't it?"
"It is." I mumbled. She called her Areum. That's what I said I'd call our child if she were a girl. "Do you know where she is?" I asked.
"Well, actually, she is here today." The woman told me. "Her mother brought her in.""Is- is her mother still here?" I asked.
"She is." The lady replied. "She's talking to another member of staff in a different room as we speak."
"Would it be possible to speak to her?" I questioned, sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation.
"Yes, but not right away." She sighed. "You see, there's been an accident.""An accident?" I became anxious.
"Yes, and I'm afraid Areum was not the fortunate one in this accident."
"Oh god please tell me she's okay." I exhaled.
"Yes, she's okay. No serious injuries."
"Please can I see her?" I begged.
"Not yet sir, please understand." The woman sighed. "Before you can see her we need to ask you a few questions.""Questions?" I blurted out. "Is this some kind of interrogation?"
"No no, just some.. safety precautions." She smiled. "Now, I am aware that you have had previous meetings with Areum."。。。。
"I'm going for a drive." I sighed, grabbing my coat from the hanger.
"I'm terribly sorry sir." The butler interrupted me. "But while you were away your parents confiscated your motorbike, along with your licence."
"For goodness sake," I sighed. "I'm not some kid."
"I completely agree with you Sir Park, But they explained to me that they did this to teach you a lesson, in hopes that you don't repeat certain mistakes."
"Yes... that sounds like them." I exhaled."Is there somewhere you would like to go?" He asked me. "I can prepare a chauffeur."
"That would be nice." I smiled. "I'll go to that cute park in the city centre"
"I'll prepare the car." And with that he excused himself, rushing out the door. I followed behind him once I was ready, hopped in the car and drove off to the park.I arrived, hugging my black trench coat around me since it was a little cold, despite it being late spring. The car waited around the corner until I called to be picked up, and I made my way into the park, sitting down on one of the benches.
I must've been there a while; listening to tweeting birds and feeling the fresh wind on my face is a feeling that I haven't felt in years, and made my eyes slowly drift shut. I was stuck in that asylum for a long time, the therapist tried her best to get me out as soon as possible, but it did take ages.
"Sir, excuse me Sir." I was awoken by a small voice and someone shaking my hand lightly. It startled me, my eyes widening, and I was about to yell at whoever woke me until I laid my eyes on her.
A young girl, about four or five, staring up at me innocently.
"Why are you sleeping?" She asked me curiously. "Are you tired?" The genuine look of interest, innocence and curiosity made me intrigued in the young girl, and her boldness at talking to a stranger.
"I guess I am a little tired." I smiled sweetly. "What's your name?"
"My name is Areum." She grinned, baring her teeth.Areum. Meaning Beautiful. Her name stayed true to her, as the young girl had perfect features and was sure to grow up to be an incredible looking woman, and she reminded me of that very special moment of my life; when I was with Minji. I told her that I wanted to call my daughter Areum...
"What's your name?" She asked me.
"My name is Jimin, nice to meet you Areum." I replied, holding out my hand for her to shake. Her hands were tiny, and she only ended up grabbing a couple of my fingers, which in itself was adorable."Can I sit here?" She asked, pointing to the vacant seat next to me. I nodded, and she hopped up to the bench and sat cross-legged.
"Where are your friends?" I asked her.
"In the sand pit." She replied. I looked over, seeing four boys around her age throwing sand at each other. "I don't want sand in my eyes so I came here." She turned to look at me. "Where are your friends?"The question caught me off guard.
"I- I don't have any." I sighed. "That's why I'm here alone."
"Can I be your friend?" She asked.
"You want to be friends with a big scary man like me?" I asked her.
"You're not scary!" She giggled. "You're funny!"
"Okay then. Let's be friends." I chuckled at her ecstatic expression."Where are your parents?" I asked.
"Oh they're over the-" Areum stopped talking when she saw them. "Oh, they're fighting." My eyes followed the direction she was pointing in, and when I saw who she was pointing at my eyes widened in awe."Areum." I mumbled. "What's your last name?"
"Jeon." She replied innocently.
"And what's your mummy's name?"
"Minji."
"Oh my god." I whispered. It's Areum. It's my daughter. How did I not realise!? She even looks like me! And her! She has my eyes, and her nose, and her fair skin. Oh my god. She kept the baby? She-"Mr. Jimin?" She waved her arm in front of my face. "Are you okay?"
"I- uhh... yeah. I'm okay." I stuttered.
"I need to go now." She told me.
"Will you come back and meet me again?" I asked her.
"I.... I will try." She smiled. "I'll ask my mummy if we can come back tomorrow."
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow Areum." I smiled, waving her off. As soon as she turned her back I sped off, out of the park and on a walk to clear my head.I just met my own daughter. My own fucking daughter. I can't believe Minji kept the baby! She- she must have gone through so much pain! I need to see Minji again. I need to speak to her, to apologise. I can't just ignore her for the rest of my life. I-
"Mr. Park!" Someone called my name. I looked up, only to see one of the owners for the multiple branches my father owns.
"Mr. Kim." I smiled, shaking his hand in a business-like manner.
"Please, just call me Jin." He smiled. "How is your father doing these days?"
"Still in his prime." I joked. "Nothing's stopping that crazy man."Yes. My dad is a multimillionaire because he owns thousands of branches of brothels all around South Korea.
"Speaking of crazy.." he sighed. "I heard you just got out the looney bin."
"It was dreadful." I sighed. "You know, my parents framed me to look like a psycho? They're the insane ones."
"I bet they are." He smiled. "Well, I can only imagine how... lonely... it can get in there. If you ever need to release some tension then pop in whenever you want." He smiled at me. "I'm sure my girls will be more than happy to help you out." We both laughed at his words, and he patted me on the back."I'll be sure to make an appearance." I smiled at him. "But if you'll excuse me, I believe my car is waiting around the corner."
"Of course." He replied. "Have a nice day Mr. Park."
"You to Mr. Jin." I replied, and we went our separate ways.
