Chapter 5

The next morning I got out of bed and did what I had to do. I changed in the guest room cause Oliver was getting dressed in mine. I left my hair out and went downstairs. My mom was home from work and I was excited to see her reaction when she sees Oliver.

"Hey mommy" I say and kiss her cheek.

"Hey sweetheart" she says but gives me a curious look. "You're in really good mood"

"Yeah. Schools getting better"

"That's great. You want me to take you?"

"No it's okay. Denzel is actually coming" I tell her and she nods 'okay'.

Heavy steps come down the stairs. "Yo Emily, can I have some of your lotion cause I left mines?" Oliver asks.

My mom gets up from her seat and before she can go to the stairs, Oliver appears in the kitchen doorway.

"Oliver!?" She questions.

"Hey Mrs. Blackburn" he says and they hug.

"Oh my god! When did you get here?!"

"Last night"

"How was your flight?"

My mom loves asking a lot of questions. It's soo annoying!

While they talked, my phone buzzed and I saw that it was from Denzel asking me if he should pick me up. I texted him 'yes' and he replied saying that he's outside already.

"Oli lets go. Denzel is outside" I tell him and he gives my mom a kiss.

"Tell Mr. Blackburn that I said good morning" he tells my mom and she replies with an 'okay'.

I walk out first and then Oliver. Denzel gets out of the car and starts to yell.

"Oliver!" He yells and runs up to him. He practically throws himself at him and Oliver looks at me and hugs him tightly followed by laughter.

Denzel lets go and we hop in the car. Before I got in, I noticed a car that looks exactly like Jidenna's. But if that was him, he would've texted me.

Jidenna's Pov:

I waited outside for Emily. I wanted to surprise her. My plan was to not text her and wait until Denzel showed up, so I could get out the car and give her these roses I got for her.

10 minutes later, Denzel showed up and Emily's house door opened. She walked out and was followed by Oliver.

When did he get here?
Why was he there?

I continued to watch them. After Denzel and Oliver's hugging moment, they hopped in the car. But before Emily got in she looked towards my direction. I think she saw my car. She shrugged her shoulders and got in the car. I watched them drive away. I have mixed emotions right now and I don't know what to do.

Should I be worried about her being with Oliver? We kinda had an issue back in Punta Cana because of her.

I start up my car and drive towards the school.

Emily's Pov:

"What do you have now?" I ask Oliver.

"Math" he says and Denzel and I frown.

"Alright. The math class gets out earlier than us. So come to ELA and pick us up" Denzel suggests and I nod in agreement.

"Okay" Oliver says and the bell rings.

We say our goodbyes and Denzel and I part ways from Oliver. We walk into class and Jidenna stops us.

"The two of you, go get a late pass" he says bluntly.
