Chapter 4: Zane

"Yes boy, I am aware of your presence you hold the key to what I need as well. Come on out." The robed man spoke and as if I had no control of my body I walked towards him and stood next to Ren.

"Rai? What...what are you doing here? Do you know this man?" I simply shook my head no, this man had an ominous aura he reeked death. Ren must have also been thinking this, since he unleashed a devastating fire ball at the robed man.

"Hehe, do you honestly believe such a basic spell will affect me? The man raised his hand and spoke words of magic, in this case a charm. gravera, Then a spell circle appeared directly below the fire ball and it was extinguished.

"How did you stop my fire ball?"

"Easy, I simply used a gravity charm intensifying the level of gravity over the fire causing it to disperse."

"Who are you and what do you want with us? I asked. It's odd for any man to be so interested in mages such as ourselves. You said that we are the keys for something that you need, what is it that you seek?"

"Hehehe you are quite bright, not as impulsive as this one." he said while pointing at Ren.

"Hey!! Just because you stopped my spell doesn't mean your all high and mighty! I can take you out!" With that he forged a blade out of pure flames and began to charge at the man.

"You idiot!! Can't you see he's far beyond our level, that he can kill us if he decided to!" I threw a lightning dagger in front of Ren to stop his futile attempt. The man vanished then reappeared behind me.

"Ahh, yes you're exactly what I need in order to find the Lost Empire hehe your coming with me." He then began to walk towards me and reached out to grab me, again I felt petrified and couldn't move. What happened to my defensive attitude, I protected Ren but I couldn't protect myself.

Then Master Sepheroth came and tried to slash the man with his master sword but the man was too quick and flipped backwards in time to dodge the blade.

"So your still around huh Zane? What do you want with these kids?!?!"

"Hehe my plan is to important and complex for your worthless mind to comprehend. Know this, I will return as next time Rai, Ren your master won't be around to protect you. With that the man vanished along with my strength.
