"Hello, ladies. Shouldn't you two be in school?" The lady behind the counter at the restaurant asked. Shelia and I came to the cafe immediately after leaving the city offices.

"We've just been sorted, ma'am. No more school for us!" I say, looking at the menu.

"Ah, well since you've been sorted you two get free malts. It's a special we have every year." She says. "Congratulations,"

"Thanks," Shelia says, nervously darting her eyes. She never really did well in social situations.

"There is an open table over there," The woman points to a table at the back, near a jukebox, "Janice will be with y'all momentarily, but if you need anything my name is Ellen,"

"Thank you!" I said, and Shelia and I left to the back table.

The restaurant was cute, like unnaturally cute. The walls had black and white photos of landmarks on the brown and pink striped walls. The tile looked like a chess board, in fact, there was a chess board in the corner. The booths were bright red and contrasted against the black, wooden tables.

We sat at our designated table, past a few quietly chatting couples. I set my board under the table and set my helmet next to me."Why haven't we come to this place before?" I asked.

"I guess I should've mentioned Alfie spends a lot of time here," Shelia said.

 I sighed. "Three... Two... One..."

Alfie burst through the door, his voice loud and disturbing the peace. "Hello, Ellen. How has your day been without my presence?"

"Wow, you didn't even know he likes to be here but you still got his entrance," Shelia said just as a woman walked to us.

"H-Howdy, I'm Janice and I will be taking your orders today. I was told you two were sorted and get free malts with your orders," Janice said, a slight stammer in her voice. She must be new.

"Hello there, Janice! We did get sorted." I said, thinking about the simplest thing I could get. "I'll have a strawberry malt and a custom burger. All I want is cheese, bacon, and mayonnaise."

"You know that sounds amazing, make it a double!" Shelia says.

"Of course, right away," Janice says, turning back to the kitchen.

"I hear the sweet voice of my darling Natalya," Alfie's voice said from the booth behind me.

 "I ain't sweet and I ain't your nothing, Alfie." I instinctively replied.

"Maybe not now, but one day," Alfie said, moving from around the booth to our table.

"I'd rather get shot, in the neck, from close range," I say, turning to him. "Now you really should go. I have a short temper and I'm near knives."

Alfie took a frightened step back, before turning and leaving. "I accept defeat now, but just you wait!"

I sigh and, under my breath, say, "I don't plan on waiting,"

"Before you ask, yes murder is frowned upon under the Queen's rule," Shelia said, reaching across the table and placing a hand on my shoulder.

"What about in the other multiverses?" I ask.

"That you should find out. It could be quite useful. And you'd have to get him before he got famous." Shelia replied.

"That sucks. He's already going to be all over the entertainment industry when I am finished with training,"

"Speaking of training, how long do you think yours will be?" Shelia asks.

I hear a door open, it's the kitchen. Janice walks out and places our order on the table. That and a little sundae. "Um, we didn't get a sundae"
