Another day of stumbling around looking for a cat. It didn't matter that the cat had a bell hanging from its collar because no matter how much Salvi could hear where it was coming from, she could never see it. Salvi lives in a world of darkness, she has been since the moment she was born. Still her efforts of finding the cat were never lost.

"Whispurr! Come here little baby. Come here." She maneuvered her way around her furniture following the little rings of the cats bell. "Stop playing games Whispurr momma wants some cuddles." It seemed every time she was near the cat he would hop away inches from being caught.

Finally Salvi gave up and sat on her couch heartbroken because she couldn't get her afternoon cuddle session from her favorite boy. Minutes after sitting down and wallowing in self pity a big ball of fluff landed on her lap.

"Ah Ha, so you do love me." She hugged and kissed the massive cat for what seemed forever till finally placing him back down on her thighs. She switched the TV on to a random channel and sat there. Her mind wandered off to her memories of the past two years.

Well memories is more like something worth remembering. The past two years have been her doing exactly this. Her parents died a little over that time and they were all she truly cared for. If you don't count a cat that is. Back then she lived with them in this Brooklyn town house. Her father a painter and her mother a modeling agent to her and many others.

Salvi's modeling career wasn't an amateur one either. She traveled to take amazing photos with big photographers. Her mother teaching her since childhood how to pose and seem less blind. Some might say that her mother was being too harsh by having her daughter practice at being something that she wasn't but if her mother was anything, it was loving. Salvi with no hesitation loved her mother to death. If she didn't love the challenge in modeling her mother would never have let her do it. Her father also would not have allowed a single camera around her if Salvi did as much as hint she didn't like being photographed.

Her father was quite a character actually. He loved the two girls in his life so much that he couldn't express it in words as much as he tried. All the I love yous and presents weren't enough for him so he painted the most surreal paintings he could muster to truly let his feelings out.

Salvi remembered her mother crying at one of her fathers beautiful paintings and her wishing that she could see it even for just a second. Her mother cried in awe as she cried in woe. Her father hated seeing his baby cry so every time a painting would be finished he would come up to Salvi and tell her this.

"You don't have to see how much I love you because you can hear it every time I hug you."And surely enough Salvi placed her head on her fathers chest as he wraped his arms around her and she could hear his steady heart beat.

Salvi was thrown out of her thoughts by the meowing of her hungry cat. She hadn't gone to the grocery store for quite some time and needed to buy more food for herself and the cat. Of course her diet consisted of sandwiches, salads, and takeout. There was no way she would attempt to cook and risk burning the block down. She did love to cook when her mother was around to walk her through.

She was glad that when she asked Siri for the time it replied with 4:35. Clearly remembering her fathers warning about the dangers woman have being out at night. He was always over protective. But a blind girl could never be to careful.

She walked to her drawer and grabbed her wallet, keys, and shoes. She always leaves her shoes in a drawer so she won't trip on them. She only wore really one pair of them. Before her mother was in charge of her wardrobe and style but now she was on her own picking them out with prayer that it was suitable enough for the outside world.
