Alice: Hatters Revenge (Intro Poem)

A little poem that I started to create for my 'Alice In Wonderland' writing piece I thought of writing back in 2013. It was going to be at the start of the story and introduced Alice, her madness, what's happened and hints what's to come in the story. Unfortunately due to commitments at college and work during that time I never finished it. I aim to start the book again at some point in the future but right now isn't the right time to do it. For now enjoy the glimpse into what could have been a great story!

Alice was mad,
Which was awfully sad.
As mad as a Hatter,
She fell from reality with an awful clatter.

This wonderland of hers of which she dreamed,
Could only be her downfall from what it seemed.
No cure for this the Doctors said,
I'm afraid she is best off dead.

Alice fought through her mind,
Trying to leave her Wonderland behind.
Arriving there to and fro,
Two years past and still nothing to show.

Clinically deranged, psychotic, or mad,
Whatever Alice had it was certainly bad.
Into the cell, throw away lock and key,
Alice screamed into her monstrosity.

Down and down the rabbit hole Alice went,
She thought for certain that she was dead.
But then a shock came through her mind,
She was finally leaving Wonderland behind.

Away it went, free at last,
It was gone, in the past.
Four years gone and not a day too soon,
Wonderland was no longer Alices doom
