Chapter 3

" Crystal! Wake up! Some lil' boy here for you! " Crystal heard her momma say from down the hall. She woke up in the wet spot that her dad left her in a few hours ago.... She looked at the clocked to see what time it was, it was 8:00am she rolled over Ughh who is it at the door. She thought to herself she was still sore, she looked in the mirror and seen the red ring around her neck from when her dad choked her. Crystal was a redbone girl so she would bruise easily... She threw on some sweats and a sweater. The sweater covered up her neck for the most part. She walked to the living room and seen Jeremiah sitting on the couch.

" Umm, goodmorning. " Jeremiah said to her

" Morning bruh, want some juice? " Crystal replied.

" Nah I'm good " Jeremiah said. Crystal walked to the other side of them and sat across from Jeremiah.

" So what's up? " Crystal asked

" Just came to check up on you "

Crystal looked at Jeremiah like he was stupid. " Bruuh, you just seen me last night " she replied. Before Jeremiah could say anything her dad came from the back room.

" Who's this young man? " he asked.

Crystal rolled her eyes " This Jeremiah Da' "

" Ohh this the young man who took you out last night? " he said walking over to shake Jeremiah hand.

" Hello sir." Jeremiah said shaking his hand.

" I Like yo manners son, and I like that you give eye contact! You better treat my Babygirl like a queen cause I sure do" her dad said smiling looking in her direction

" I'm working on it sir. "Jeremiah replied. He watched as her dad walked over to give her a kiss on the cheek and he noticed how she kind of backed away when he leaned in. He also noticed the red ring around her neck. He instantly got mad! But instead of losing his cool spazzing out and pulling out his gun. He clenched his teeth and asked what happened to her neck. " Boy that been there! It's just a print from my necklace. " " Since when do necklaces have fingers! " Jeremiah asked impatiently. " Whaat? Ahaa, boy you tripping forreal! " Crystal said covering the mark with her hand. Jeremiah was so mad he just got up walked away without another word.

That next day Jeremiah walked up to Diamond.

" Hey Jeremiah! " Diamond said as she watched him approach her

" Hey Diamond, Can I ask you something? " Jeremiah said approaching her.

" Yeaa, sure. What's up? " She replied W/ a concerned look.

" Is something going on at the house with Crystal? "

" What you talking about Jeremiah? "

" Man something ain't right at that house Diamond! Something going on With Crystal! "

When Jeremiah said that Diamond just chuckled. " Jeremiah, boy you crazy. Ain't nothing going on at our house Crystal just have a unexplained bad attitude. "

" Is that right? Well how y'all dad treat y'all? "

" Ohh daddy treats us like princesses and gives us any and everything we want! And so does our mom! " Once Diamond said that Jeremiah just walked away. He couldn't even focus on his school work he was so bugged out he just left school all together. He went home and kept thinking bout Crystal. Something just wasn't adding up. " Ring, Ring" Jeremiah phone started ringing " Yooo, what's popping? " Jeremiah answered. " Aye man, we need you to come hit up some fools! They selling on our terf. " " Iight Bang. I'm on my way! " Jeremiah hung up the phone and hopped in the car to meet up w/ Bang. Bang was James & Jeremiah homeboy. They ran the streets together ever since they was about 14years old. Bang was like a mentor to James and Jeremiah and taught them everything they needed to know about the streets. He finally arrived to the spot. " Yooooo!! "Bang greeted Jeremiah, "Wassup bruh? Who the fools we blasting?? " " Them dudes over there. " Bang replied pointing to the two guys standing across from their trap. " Ohh hell naah! Let's go do they ass! " Jeremiah said hopping in his car Bang got in the passenger side. Bang loaded up his gun aimed it out the window and began to shoot as Jeremiah drove passed. Jeremiah drove pass twice. " Aye go back! So we can get our money bruh! " Bang said, Jeremiah pulled up beside the two dead bodies hopped out the car and pulled all the money out the guys pockets. Once they finished handling business they pulled up at the Burger Joint went inside and got something to eat. " So bruh, what's going on with ya? " Bang asked taking a big bite out of his burger.

" Nothing Really " Jeremiah replied

" Ahaa, that ain't what James been telling me. Who the girl that got you sprung bruh? "

" Man this girl named Crystal. I don't know what it is bout her bruh! She's just so damn beautiful! Only on the outside though but... Man I don't know she just crazyy. She dealing with something man, I don't know what it is but something ain't right! But man I just got to have her man! " Jeremiah said shaking his head. Bang put his head down.. " Crystal Smith? Super thick? Redbone? Long jet black hair? Tatted on her ankle? Beautiful eyes? And have a twin Diamond who's just as sexy?? "

"Yeaaa... You know her? " Jeremiah replied sounding confused. Bang was 2years ahead of Jeremiah and Crystal so he didn't understand how he could kno her.

" I mean like... I don't know her like that, just heard bout her... Uhh aye bruh you ready? " Bang said trying his hardest to change the subject. " Uhh iight" Jeremiah replied. He got a very bad vibe from Bang after that and he ain't like it. When they got in the car Jeremiah just had to know how Bang knew Crystal. " Ohh we just got mutual friends man that's all.. I don't feel like talking bout that girl bruh. " Bang said, Jeremiah ain't say another word. He dropped Bang off back at the trap and just pulled off. Jeremiah finally got home and once he did he just laid across his bed. He just didn't like how Bang responded to his questions about Crystal. As Jeremiah sat in his room trying to put the pieces to the puzzle together he got extremely upset. The fact nobody wanted to tell him what was going on really made him mad. Jeremiah wasn't sure if he loved Crystal but he knew for a fact he ain't ever felt that way about anybody else before. Crystal just did something to him that he couldn't explain.
