The next day, Tess was excited to have a date night. She stressed to make everything perfect. "Jacob, move you ass. We're going to be late," Tess rushed me.

"Where are we even going?" I asked her.

"I got us reservation at Sky City."

"Isn't that the restaurant in the Space Needle?"

"Yes, and we're almost late. Now like I said, move your ass."

"How about you shake your ass," I suggested.

"After dinner. But only if you're good," she teased.

Tess dressed in a short, black dress. And she forced me to where a tux. She was so excited and jittery the she couldn't stop moving. We got in the car and begin the trip to Sky City.

"Hurry up, Jacob. Step on the gas." Tess said.

"Tess, I can't go any faster. Calm down, everything doesn't have to be perfect." I told her

"Yes it does, today is special."

"Why?" I asked.

"Its a surprise," she told me.

"Will I enjoy it?"

"I hope."

"So do I."

We arrived on time, not a minute late. We boarded an elevator and rode it to the top of the Space Needle. Once the doors opened, we were met with waves of pleasant aromas. The smell of the food was hypnotizing.

"Good evening, sir," a well dressed man greeted us. "Last name?"

"Dawes." Tess answered.

The looked through the appointment book to find the name. When he found it, he looked up at us and smiled. "Right this way."

He lead us to our table. There was a nice view of the city below us. A waiter brought over a bottle of wine and filled our glasses.

"So what do you think?" Tess asked me.

"This is fucking fantastic," I told her. "I like this place."

"Great. Because tonight, I want you at your happiest."

"And why is that?"

"No reason. We just haven't seen each other in a long time," she answered.

"It has been less than a week."

"I know but I can't stand being away from you."

"At least one person feels that way, Max thinks differently."

"Don't worry about that, let's just enjoy ourselves."

"To do that, I need something a lot stronger than wine."

"I don't have that, but i can try something else." she said as she got down on one knee.

"I don't think this is the place for that."

"Shut up, Jacob or you'll ruin the moment."

"Jacob, the past three years that we've been together were the best time of my life. It was heaven. And I want it to stay that way forever. Jacob Dawes, will you marry me?"

Everyone paused and put their eyes were on us. They all stared at me waiting on my answer.

"Tess, no I can't," I told her.

"Why not?"

"I don't know why. I just can't."

"I knew it. I fucking knew it."
