"Miss Clark, do you have everything?", Miss Peregrine asked me.

"I believe I do, Miss P," I answered her, gesturing to my two leather suitcases. Enoch was carrying one of them for me, a grim expression on his face. He didn't want me to go at all.

"I still don't get why you have to go. Why can't Emma just go? She's the one in love with Abe after all," he grunted and heaved my suitcase onto the ferry for me.

"How often have I told you, Mr O'Connor? We can't send Miss Bloom exactly because of her emotional attachment to Abraham. Additionally, I cannot reset Miss Bloom's body outside of the loop without Miss Clark's help. It'll only work on Miss Clark over such a long distance, you know that."

He rolled his eyes and his arm snaked around my waist, pulling me closer to him so he could whisper in my ear. "When you come back, I'm going to make you regret ever going away in the first place."

I hit his chest, laughed and muttered back, "Mr O'Connor! No such things whilst we're in the presence of our headmistress!"

"Whatever you say, Robyn," he said and kissed me on the lips one last time. We broke apart and his arms wrapped around my waist while I threw mine around his neck and buried my head in his shoulder, taking in the familiar scent for one last time before I went away.

"Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."

"You, too. I love you."

"I love you, too, Enoch."
