Sherlock's POV

I went where Jessie said she saw them go. I turned down the dark alley. Suddenly I felt a lump in my throat. I was scared. Not because of the spookiness of this silence. No. I've been to places far worse than this. I was scared of seeing her face again. Hearing her voice. Being in the same room as her. It is dangerous for her to be back here. She is a criminal. Everyone thinks she is dead. Everyone but me. I am the only one who knows the truth.

I know how she feels about me but... I don't know how I feel about her. This is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done.

The abandoned car park - 5 minutes later - 3rd person POV

"Hide! He can't know that I am here."
The 5 figures that had been stood in the middle of the car park disappeared around corners and behind bollards.
"I know you are here. Come and face me. I need to talk to you. I need answers." Sherlock called into the darkness.
There was no response.
"Come on. Lestrade. Mrs Hudson..." he pleaded. He didn't want to have to say her name...
"I know it's you behind this and I know that you are here." He was nervous. He had never used her actual name before. "Come out. I am unarmed. I can't do anything to you."
And with that, Miss Adler stepped out from the corner but she was still in the shadows.
This is good. Thought Sherlock. I can't see her face. I don't have to look at her.
"Mr Holmes... How did you know I was here?" Her voice... The way she said his name... it made him shiver... He wondered if she felt the same when he said her name.
"A young girl said she saw you come this way."
"No. How did you know I was here. Back in London." She stepped out of the shadows. Sherlock saw her face and his breath caught in his throat. He opened his mouth to reply but no words came out. He suddenly felt sick... Dizzy... He didn't know what was going on. He wasn't going to faint, was he? Sherlock never faints.
"Are you okay?" She was trying to sound like she didn't care but there was a hint of concern in her voice. Everyone there could hear it. All but Sherlock. He didn't recognise it because no one had ever been worried about him before. Not properly. Not like she was. His senses began to stop functioning properly. He couldn't smell or taste the fumes from old cars on the level above anymore. He couldn't see Miss Adler's face. He fell to the ground. No more wind batting against his face. He could. Still hear what was going on. Hearing was his last sense left.
"Sherlock!!"
Then the sound of feet running towards him. He was sure he could hear Miss Adler say to him
"Don't leave me..."
Then he blacked out completely.
"We have to get him to a hospital."
The other 4 people came out from hiding.
"We can't! We'll be seen!" Said Lestrade.
There were more footsteps... And then an unfamiliar voice...
"What the hell have you done to him??"
"I have done nothing. Leave now."
"There is no point in hiding. I know who you are."
"What is my name then??"
"Irene Adler..."
