The rest of the day remained uneventful for Sarah, going to classes, as per usual, gossiping with Will about their enemies, as per usual and daydreaming for long periods of time, as per usual. The pair were proceeding to walk out of the insane asylum until they were stopped by a smug-looking Leo. "Sarah, can I talk to you, please?" he said, rather sincerely, despite his permanent smirk. Sarah rolled her eyes, brushing past him to exit when he grabbed her arm and dropped his smirk. "Please. It's important, I promise."
"You do realize how that sounds, right?" She replied, looking into his pleading eyes. Rolling her eyes, she nods, ignoring Will's gaping expression. "Fine, but this better be good." He pulls her to the side, motioning for Will to give them privacy. "I need a favor. I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend for a while." It was Sarah's turn to be shocked. "Tiana won't stop bothering me and I need you to help me to get her to stop." Sarah's expression remained the same, bulging eyes and a gaping mouth. "I-I-I'm flattered, but, why me? And what's in it for me?" He smirked a little at her flabbergasted expression, "Well, for starters, you would gain instant popularity, albeit potentially short-lived, and I promise to lay off your friend. Maybe if you're good I'll find a way to bury his shame," Sarah contemplated his proposal. She didn't care about the popularity, but if it would save her friend from his seemingly perpetual and completely undeserved torture. "Just let me think about it," He sighed in frustration, but let go of her arm.
"Fine, but I need your answer by Friday. I need you to be my date for Dustin Smythe's party."
"Friday?!? That's only two days to decide!" He had already begun to walk away, but he turned to call over her shoulder. "Then you'd better think quickly." And with that he walked off, leaving a gaping Sarah behind. Will walks over, staring at her with questioning eyes, beckoning for her to speak. "He just asked me to be his fake girlfriend." She said nonchalantly, in comparison to her friend's disgust and horror. "WHAT? Surely you aren't considering it, right? He's probably just gonna humiliate you or something. Plus you don't want him staining your reputation." Sarah looks fondly at her friend, realizing for the umpteenth time that she did not deserve him. "How can I refuse?" She replies softly, to Will's confusion. Standing on her tippy-toes she pecked him on the cheek and walked in the direction of the bus, leaving Will standing in a stupor, blushing, but slightly concerned all the while.><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><
Will bid Sarah adieu, when they went their separate ways, Sarah relieved to finally arrive home. Entering the house, she hurled her bag to the side and walked into the kitchen, grabbing a Twinkie. She trudged up the stairs, almost reaching her destination when she heard giggling coming from her Aunt's room. A nauseous feeling pooled in the pit of her stomach, and warning bells began to go off in her head as she reached for the handle, pushed the door open a fraction, and instantly regretted it.
Ezra and her Aunt were making out. Like, really going at it. She was sure she'd need to live in a convent for the rest of her life to redeem herself of the horrible image that would now plague her mind for weeks. She shut the door quietly, praying silently that she had not been heard. She tip-toed down the stairs as quickly as she could and she hauled herself out of the door, bolting towards Will's house. She arrived quickly, entered through the front door, shouting a quick 'hello' to Will's mother, Lyra, and bolting up the stairs and into Will's room, shutting the door behind her. He sat at his desk, headphones on and laptop screen displaying his D&D campaign.
She waved her hands in front of his face, breaking him out of his trance. "Woah, hey," he said, as he realized who had entered his dungeon. "Uh," he said, pulling at his collar. "If I'd known you were coming I'd have cleaned up a bit. And put on some pants," this drew Sarah's attention to his lower area, and she yelped when she saw that he was indeed in his tight-ish boxers. She blushed profusely and cursed, turning away from him. "Merlin's beard, I did not need another addition to the growing gallery in mind." With that Will slid on some black jeans, smirking as the context of their conversation came to light. "Ahhh, so I'm guessing you aren't here to just visit your loyal and devoted friend."
"WILLIAM!" Sarah shrieked, smacking his shoulder. He groaned and rubbed his shoulder in mockery, holding his laughter in. "Hey, hey, it's okay, what you saw was perfectly normal," Will said, guiding Sarah to his desk chair. "See, when two adults really, really like each other-"
"OKAY, THAT is enough of that. Please, just give me a distraction from the disturbing images in my brain." His smile faltered a little, his eyes flickering to her full lips for a second. He sighed, his eyes dropping and grabbed the TV remote, turning it on. "Let's watch a movie. Your pick," his grin returned, handing her the remote. She opened Netflix, quickly making the decision to watch "The Sixth Sense". She had been longing to watch it, and Will had been putting it off because he didn't like M. Night-Shyamalan.><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
"I can't believe I didn't see that coming! Damn, that has me shook." Sarah and Will had retreated to his bed and were snuggled up in his Spider-Man duvet. "I could see it coming from a mile away. But I admit, it wasn't a bad film."
"Woah, you're actually conceding?"
"Nah, he's still a shit film-maker. This was an exception. Probably because of Bruce Willis."
"Very true."
The pair sat in comfortable silence for another few seconds, before glancing up at each other. Their faces were close, due to the positioning of their bodies on the bed. Will smiled softly, leaning closer, Sarah's eyes fluttering shut, before a loud howl echoed through the room, breaking the pair out of their trance. "Shit, that's probably my Aunt," Sarah said, scrambling off the bed and avoiding Will's disappointed face. "I still fail to understand why that is your ringtone," he said with a sigh. She smirks at him, before answering the phone. "Sarah's house of 'how may I save your ass today?'"
"What time are you coming home? Or are you staying the night?"
"Aunty please, you know we aren't like that."
"Honey, you and Will are the biggest case of 'will they, won't they' if I've ever seen one. He's a good guy, I don't see why you won't date him."
"Melissa!"
"Okay, I'll shut up! Just message me and tell me when you're coming home. Unless you change your mind,"
"Oh you'd like that, wouldn't you?"
"It would bring me unimaginable joy."
"Well fine, I'll see you later. Bye"
"Bye love."
With that, the dial tone clicks and Sarah pulls away from her phone. "My Aunt says I can stay the night,"
"It's a school night, why would she say that?" Sarah fell silent at this reply, a rosy hue dusting her sharp cheekbones. Will's face turned into one of recognition, as he understood what her Aunt was implying. A wide Cheshire grin spread across his face, as he said: "Well, that isn't such a bad idea..."
"WILLIAM!" Sarah threw a Pikachu plush doll at him and he attempted to dodge it, failing miserably, of course. He laughed at her flustered state, grabbing the doll and throwing it back. "What I meant to say, before I was so rudely interrupted by your dirty mind, was that you staying the night wasn't such a bad idea. We could have a Harry Potter marathon....?"
Sarah's face broke into a happy smirk, and she smiled innocently. "That sounds incredibly tempting, but you'll need something else to get me to stay..."
"We can get some Ben & Jerry's at the corner store across the road."
"Deal."
The twosome grabbed their coats and shoes, slipping them on and silently sneaking down the stairs. They checked in the kitchen to make sure Will's mother was distracted, and they bolted out the door, quietly shutting it behind them. They crossed the road and sneaked down the pavement towards the brightly lit corner shop. They entered, their ninja impersonations left at the door. They walked to the freezer, containing the delicious pints of B&J ice cream. Sarah opened the door and grabbed a cookie dough, Will grabbing a chunky-monkey. Walking to the counter, Sarah set her pint down and pulled out her wallet, before Will's hand stopped her. "I'll pay,"
"No, it's fine."
"You shouted me a milkshake last week, let me repay you." Sarah stood, contemplating for a second, before nodding. They walked out of the store and back to the house, Sarah gazing at Will fondly.
