CHAPTER 10

“Mr. Lowell?” the principal repeated. My heart was beating like crazy and I don’t know what to do. I looked at Marcus and he looked uneasy. He held my hand and went inside the bathroom. I don’t know but I thought something really inappropriate in the situation we were currently in. Marcus just chuckled at my thought and kissed me on my forehead.

“wait here, princess.”

He left and went to the door where the principal was waiting. I heard the door opened and it made my heart beat even faster. I can hear them from here so I eavesdropped on their conversation.

“Mr. Williams. What brings you here?” Marcus said in a cheerful yet professional tone.

“I was just wondering if you saw Ms. Fulton. Her brother is here and is looking for her.” My heart skipped a beat and I was dead curious why my brother is here. Wrong timing!

“Oh. I’m sorry Sir but I haven’t seen her since her Gym class.” Marcus answered. “why would she be here anyway?” he chuckled but I was sure he was really serious.

“It’s just that, I saw her walk pass my office and went left to this corridor. I just thought it was you who called her or something.” The principal said in dismayed voice.

“Is that so? I’m sorry but she was doing well in my class and there’s no reason for me to call on her.” Marcus said professionally and I can almost hear the principal sigh and nod.

“Okay then. I’ll just tell her brother to wait for her in their house. Thanks Mr. Lowell.” With that, I heard the door closed once again. I sigh of relief washed over me. What’s the matter with my brother and why would he come here?

Marcus went inside the bathroom and again, the inappropriate thought flashed my mind. It was him, naked. I growled in frustration while he chuckled. Why can’t I just forget what he looked like when I went to his house that day! Ugh.

“it’s okay. I can actually see that you’re enjoying the mental picture you got there.” He said teasingly.

“I am not!” I hissed and he laughed quietly. He held my hand and whispered to close my eyes. This time, I don’t have to ask him why because I already know the answer. I just obeyed and close my eyes. The feeling of the familiar current was once again lingering on my skin and after that short second, I opened my eyes.

We were in the basement of the school and beside us was the car of Marcus I adore so much. He opened the door for me and I went inside. Then he was beside me, starting the car. I can smell him all over the car and I couldn’t think of anything more fragrant than this.

We were driving in silence and I felt a little discomfort. It feels as if something is wrong and Marcus is not telling me what it is. I looked at him and he has a poker face which made me irritable. Something is really wrong.

“What’s wrong, Marcus.” I asked him in a serious tone. He looked at me and still, his facial expression gave away nothing. Damn him for being so good with the poker face.

“nothing, princess.” He looked to the road again and I sighed. We were supposed to be happy. But now, I can’t see what’s happy in here.

“tell me, Marcus.” I commanded him and he sighed. He knows I’m not going to give up on asking him. Why would I? He looks so uneasy and it’s clear that he’s hiding something from me. He looked at me and frowned.

“It’s the principal. I just felt something that’s not good a while ago while he was talking to me. He was looking past behind me and kept sighting if you were there. And I don’t know but there’s something in him that tells me He’s dangerous.” Marcus said and he was holding back.
