Chapter 6 - Truth or Lies

No POV
Ash and Serena landed in the town. And it certainly was destroyed. Serena told Ash on the way here, that it was destroyed in a war that her father took part in when she was young.

Ash's sister is extremely dependent on other people. She was raised spoiled. She barely does anything alone. Serena however, is very independent.

They two were walking along one of the demolished streets. Serena says there shouldn't be a need for a cloak. Ash trusts her, which has worked so far. What they didn't know is that they were being watched.

"Alrighty then Princess. Your gullible and predictable.. Let's just find out how gullible and predictable exactly." A figure laughs as he takes a new form.

Ash and Serena continue walking down a street. Sooner or later there's a figure in front of them.

"Follow me." It says. Serena instantly recognizes the voice. It was none other than Calem himself. Or so she thought.

Serena's POV
I stand there with happiness in my eyes. If Calem could've escaped, then maybe my parents escaped as well. I had so many questions.

Were my parents alive? Were they okay? Where are they? Those where just a few I had. Every single one was about my parents.

As Calem turned into a alleyway behind what used to be a hotel, Ash grabbed my shoulder, turning me to him. He had a serious look in his eyes

"Ash? What's wrong?" I ask curiously.
Ash puts a finger to his lip, signaling me to whisper. I raise an eyebrow.

"I don't trust this. This doesn't seem right." He responds whispering.

"It's my brother. He wouldn't hurt someone unless to protect me." I whisper back cautiously.

"Just be wary. Keep on your toes." Ash responds. "If anything bad happens, leave"

"What? No I....."

"Serena." Ash responds seriously. Oh no... does he like me back? I nod my head as I understand.

With that we both walk into the alley. He has a scarf on, covering his lower face. It was white.

"C-Calem? Is that actually you?" I ask curiously.

"Yes, dear Sister. It is me." He says. I smile, then....

Wait... he never calls me dear sister. That's not right. Maybe it couldn't be him.... no! Why am I thinking like that! Think positive!

I see his normal black hair and bluish grey eyes. Maybe he just changed after being imprisoned for a year. That's a possibility right?

For the next half hour we speak about our parents. They didn't escape, but they were alive and healthy. Ash was keeping an eye on Calem. Calem even talked a little about Arceus and a few other things.

"That's all we can speak about today." Calem says sadly.

"Oh... okay Calem. Stay safe." I reply.

"Now, can your big brother get a hug before you go?" He asks innocently.

I stand still, I'm hesitant. Ash is still staring Calem down. Calem turned out to be actually Calem.... so I guess that it's ok. I guess I could give him a quick hug.

I walk up to him and he smirks. He tricked me... "Ash.... RUN!!" I yell as I try to run

Ash pushes himself off the wall and runs up to me. He almost grabs my hand, but I get pulled away, and get a knife put up to my throat.

Ash's POV
When Serena yells to run, I instantly push myself off the wall and run to grab her hand. But the fake Calem pulls her away and puts a knife to her throat.

"Your not Calem..." I say coldly.

"No I'm not." He answered in a much deeper voice. "Turns put the Princess is really gullible." He adds smirking. Again.

"Who are you?" Serena asks gasping, trying to get air through the pressure of the knife.

"I am no one. I am but a bounty hunter." He responds as he starts laughing.

He transforms into nothing but a solid black figure. He was dark as night. He had fully white eyes.

He laughs as he pushes Serena slightly away from him. Small ominous deep purple gas clouds form and move around Serena, feet up.

Wherever the two clouds circle around, forms a black chain, restricting her movement. It's going really slow. Latios and Latias still have time.

After a few minutes, it reaches above  her hips, and then there's a whoosh, and Latios and Latias appear.

"Dragon Pulse." I say calmly. They both fire their beams of Dragon Power to the sides of the bounty hunter, causing dust to form.

I run up and find a now unconscious Serena, with the clouds of smoke gone, along with the chains. I pick her up, put her on Latias, and Latias leaves to their hiding place.

I get onto Latios and fly off as well. I look to see the knife flying towards me. My eyes widen. "Dodge!" I shout.

Latios does a flip causing the knife to fly by, and hit the ground again. I sigh in relief and we continue to fly off.

No POV
"They think they escaped. Ha! Royalty can honestly be the stupidest." The figure laughs evilly.

The smoke progressed far enough to where it can track her movement and position. When the King sees it fit, he can teleport to her location.
