Ship: Marliza

Warning: Donald Trump

Prompt: Maria and Eliza find out who won the election. This one will be really short.

I'm shaken to my core. I didn't know what else to do.

POV: Third person

Eliza had dozed off quite some time ago and now she woke up to gasping sobs. She tip-toed into the living room and looked at the TV displaying in large letters that Donald Trump would be the next President of the United States. All the wind was knocked out of her and she went into a state of shock. She wanted to cry, but she then looked to her girlfriend.

Maria was curled up on the couch, her head dropped into her hands. Her entire body was shaking.

Eliza sat down next to her and gently placed her hand on her back.

The smaller girl looked up and began to sob harder. "Eliza, he-he-he-"

"I know, I know, shh..." Eliza pulled her girlfriend into her and held her tightly. She felt tears stinging at the corners of her eyes as she thought about what this would mean for them and their friends and family.

"I'm so scared," Maria sobbed into her.

Eliza pulled away and took Maria's face in her hands, kissing her quickly. "Listen to me," she spoke, "They can never take this away from us. Okay? Never."

Maria nodded, still crying, and leaned against her girlfriend. "I love you so much."

Eliza wiped at the tears that were now falling down her cheeks. "I love you too." She kissed the top of Maria's head and hope for the best.
