Betrayed

Percy POV

My breath came out in small puffs as I ran. I didn't know where I was going, I just had to get away from Camp. I used to love it there, but once my brother came, my life slowly got worse, and I was betrayed by those closest to me. I am now just an empty shell of my old self.

FLASHBACK

I ran up Half Blood Hill, joy evident on my face. Athena had finally given me her blessing. You see, the past three months I took a leave of absence from camp to preform the multiple tasks Athena had me do to receive Her blessing to marry Annabeth. Once she gave me her blessing, she even helped me with the ring. The ring was made of celestial bronze, and it had a smooth gray pearl in the middle. Around the inside of the ring were the words "Seaweed Brain and Wise Girl". I knew she would love it.

I reached the big house and saw Chiron. I asked where Annabeth was. He wouldn't meet my eyes as he told me she was at the beach. I ran down to the beach and saw a happy couple kissing in the sand. I smiled, thinking of the many times Annabeth and I had done that. Then, I realized the boy had jet black hair like mine. It was my brother, David. He came into camp thinking he was better than everyone else for killing an empousae on his way to camp. Everyone worshipped him besides my friends and I. Eventually my friends went to his side also. All I had left was Thalia, Nico, and Annabeth. Anyway, David was making out with some blond girl who looked a lot like Annabeth. As I looked closer, I saw something that caused my hear to shatter. The girl was Annabeth. They both looked up, and Annabeth started crying. She said the didn't mean it, but she was lying. I threw the ring at her and ran out of camp.

END OF FLASHBACK

So here I am now. I suddenly got an idea. I was in the city, so why not visit my mom and Paul? I ran to the apartment, only to see it burned to the ground. My heart shattered for a second time. I wished I Could just die. I ran to Olympus tears rushing down my face. When I arrived in the throne room, I found 12 pairs of eyes on me. oops, looks like today's a council meeting. I kneeled at Zeus' feet. He looked down at me with a questioning look on his face. I took a deep breath, and said, "I want you to kill me".
