My hands gripped the steering wheel, my knuckles turning a bright white. I just wanted to be home. Home is where I'm comfortable, home is where I'm alone.Everything and anything about being out bugged me. Everyone drives too slow, people are always obnoxiously nice to you, and you always have to smile...always.
I sighed in relief as I pulled into the driveway, my hands quickly unbuckling my seatbelt before rushing to the backseat to help Noah from his.
"Come on buddy lets get you some dinner" his tiny hand clutched onto my pinky finger, his eyes concentrated towards the ground making sure not to fall.
"Daddy look!" he spoke up, removing his clutch on my finger. My eyes followed the line up to where he was pointing. Noah giggled and ran towards the figure sitting on the couch.
"What are you doing here" my voice stern as the body walked closer.
"We're worried about you buddy" the familiar voice filled my ears, unfortunately less giggly and excited. His hands went under Noah's extended arms, picking up the small boy.
"I don't need your help Ashton, neither yours or the boys." My annoyance was through the roof at this point. I walked to the kitchen, heating up a slice of leftover pizza for Noah.
"Why won't you just figure out that you need help Calum. You stay in your house all day and you haven't gotten a job in months." His voice slightly raising as he bounces Noah on his hip.
"Come on dude do you have to say shit like that in front of him?" my eyes darting over to Noah before I muttered a quick apology. I put the pizza on a plate and put it on the table, Ashton sitting Noah snug in the booster seat.
Noah was clearly confused by the arguing. I know he should be happy because he hasn't seen any of the boys in ages but right now, I just wanted him out of my goddamn house.
"How the hell did you get in anyway" I asked, leaning against the kitchen island, my hands running through my hair. His fingers hold a small silver key before quickly tossing it on the counter beside me.
"The welcome mat is cliche and not very safe" he spoke up. "But with all the drinks in your system I wouldn't expect you to think straight," he mutters under his breath, probably hoping I would and wouldn't hear it all at the same time.
"Get out" I pushed my body from the island.
"Cal come on man" he tried to reason.
"Get the hell out of my house right now" My voice was loud, loud to the point where I could see Noah's face twist with fear.
Ashton looked me over before shaking his head, and walking out the door. My fist hit the counter top, making Noah flinch suddenly.
"I'm sorry buddy," I walked over to his chair, hugging him tightly into my chest. "I'm sorry you had to see daddy get like that"
